This was a very well executed post.I refuse to believe Juwan has a heart. Or a brain. Or courage for that matter. Really, he's a one man performance of the Wizard of Oz
About a $500k raise and the chance to work with/under Calipari again
and at that time, many pundits would have put Brad at #3 of that bunchChris Holtman, Archie Miller, and Brad Underwood walk into a bar. Er, I mean, those three were all hired in the same year, 2017. Who's left standing?
Probably a preference of more distance from an alleged Chicago sidechickDidn’t his wife have ties (or just a preference) for Lexington too?
Anybody remember the Keatts Train?Chris Holtman, Archie Miller, and Brad Underwood walk into a bar. Er, I mean, those three were all hired in the same year, 2017. Who's left standing?
So why come back?

Is Calipari really in trouble this year? Seems like it's a matter to time though...Because he might not have a job at UK depending on how the rest of this season goes ...
His contract also only runs through the end of this season ...
The first part is not true ... We actually offered him the same money ...
The second part is true ... Wife also wanted to get out of Champaign ...
Kentucky fans are crazy. I think Calipari is the single most overrated coach in history. He has always had a talent advantage, and cheated to get it. Now the playing field is level but he's still getting more talent than all but a few schools. He's lost 7 games this year, including a loss to UNC Wilmington, tied for 5th in conference. Is Calipari really in trouble this year? Seems like it's a matter to time though...

I think Calipari is probably looking to leave before the pitchforks come out. I don't know how you can lose 7 games when you've got 3 guys on your team that combine to shoot 46.4% from 3 on 349 attempts. That's crazy good, and they're 5th.
So Kentucky fans are crazy but you agree with them that they can do better than Cal?Kentucky fans are crazy. I think Calipari is the single most overrated coach in history.
The fan base seems to have turned on him to some degree. I think they are delusional to think they will get a significant upgrade. He puts together an exceptionally talented roster every year. If his kids decide to try to play defense in March, they will be tough. Is Calipari really in trouble this year? Seems like it's a matter to time though...

The thing about Kentucky is that it's the biggest basketball-first NIL army inside the Power Two by a country mile. Combined with all the traditional blue blood factors, I'd have a hard time calling anything else the #1 job in the country.
Who is the target though? Tommy Lloyd maybe? Within the conference Oats, Beard and Musselman all seem like the right profile. BU would crush it there, hopefully their eyes are elsewhere.
Probably depends on the alternatives (if he isn't going back to Kentucky)Is the second part not an issue anymore?
Is the second part not an issue anymore?
It wouldn't be an issue if he needed a job after just losing his at UK ...
Are you saying fans being crazy and coaches being overrated are mutually exclusive thoughts? So Kentucky fans are crazy but you agree with them that they can do better than Cal?
I don't see UK firing Cal this year unless he misses the playoff. (Truthfully I don't see that happens even if he misses it.) He has a large contract/buyout remaining. That makes it difficult for UK to fire him. He can leave by himself but will he do that when he is paid well with a large buyout? We shall see.Yes ... I think they can ... If you give certain coaches that kind of talent and UK brand and resources... They will do more with it than Cal did ...
Cal has not been that good since 2018 ... He's also lost his edge recruiting-wise... Just look at the top 15 this year out of HS ... Cal got one guy ... When Cal had things rolling ... He was getting a handful ...
