If this is true, things are about to get a lot worse before they have any chance of getting better.Jeff Goodman was saying on Field of 68 top tier coaches don’t want Michigan because of academic transfer restrictions and lack of NIL so they’ll probably have to get a MVU or MWC coach

Wow, nice call. I was at the game, but the answer didn't come to mind. I do remember wondering at the time why he was being recognized.I think it was Gies no?
Boxing gloves seems to be appropriate, no?I feel like we should send flowers or something, to say thank you for all Juwan did for the beloved.
What would be an appropriate gift?
Ah, Tommy Amaker. Those were good timesNooooo! I wanted Juwon to stay at Michigan forever. 2 guaranteed wins every year. Like the Tommy Amaker days.
Hopefully they go hire Jalen Rose, Chris Weber, Sean Higgins or another ex NBA alum.
If they were smart they would bring Beilein back but he is 71 and probably does not want to deal with NIL and transfer portal.
Lot of good positions opening up - Ohio State, Michigan, Washington, Louisville, OK State. Less attractive Vanderbuilt
LaMont Paris just signed extension at SC
Dustin May FAU, Nate Oates (AL). Musselman (ARK), Beard (ole Miss), Miller (XAV) will have their choice of jobs if they want to move. Might be too early for Miller to move. Oates signed extension in early 2023. Musselman signed extension Nov 2023.

He and his wife did donate about 2 mil.Leonard??
goodFootball still pays the bills even at a place like Illinois. The whole NIL fund got north of 65+ million in the last month. We have enough for both.
Didn't want to see Howard leave. However, John Beilein did pretty well at Michigan. I am sure that he helped place more players in the NBA than we have in last 15 years. If this is true, things are about to get a lot worse before they have any chance of getting better.
Yup. But no time to wait for that to happen.good
but it wont be too much longer until this changes with employee status and collective bargaining. Without rules and limits, there will be no more ability for 90% of the teams to compete
current status quo is not sustainable

It's actually an extreme force for parity, at least among the major conferences.good

Football might not ever be #1, but I think we can crack the top 10 (in the B1G).
Even though he had a down year, surprised Tang isn't getting more interest from some of these open jobs.
I'm more in the camp that this was inevitable and I'm glad we seem to be moving quickly to capitalize. I'm hopeful that, by the time this all stabilizes, we will have raised our star enough to have durably improved our place in the pecking order. It's actually an extreme force for parity, at least among the major conferences.
But the system is blowing gaskets left and right, that much is true. It can't go on like this.
Personally I'm still just kind of in a state of shock and mourning for the destruction of college football. They destroyed fall Saturdays, which has been my favorite entertainment product since I was a kid.
I'm not as blackpilled about basketball...yet. Selfishly, a lot of the trends that seem terrible for the overall interest level in the sport also seem narrowly good for Brad Underwood's Illinois.
