Lol, so the AD traveling to meet his top target makes LESS sense to you than an NBA coach getting up at 4AM on a day he'll be working until 11PM and spend three hours of travel time for a two hour meeting he could easily have on Zoom.

InsiderBrain is incredible.

It IS possible Donovan was in Lexington today. It seems extraordinarily unlikely to me, but it's possible.

I bet you every house within 100 miles of a beach on planet earth that Billy Donovan was not on both of those listed flights.
Had a client once who would occasionally fly to London from ATL just for lunch, to go on dates, etc. Didn't make sense to me but when you have the time and money is no object and you can travel in absolute comfort, what's the difference?

CBS Chicago just now reported Donovan as saying he's not even been contacted by UK.

You think an AD who’s about to make the most important he has to make every decade or so (hopefully not less) and probably boosters don’t want to meet with that guy in person before getting serious about talking to him? Especially given the pace they want to make the hire, it seems perfectly logical.

I don’t and probably will never fly private, but I’ve woken up at 4am for a flight for a two hour meeting then worked and got home at 11pm many times…and nobody is paying me 8.5m+ to do it.

Pope ain't built for UK ...
I’m not so sure about that.

With Drew seeming poised to land the UK job… how worried are we that Baylor takes Tang and Brad is tempted to go home and coach the school he played for/was an assistant at?

The way people reason "I have decided X is true, therefore absurd extrapolation Y, Z, A, B, C etc all must be justified because they follow from X" is absolutely extraordinary.

Not only that, probably for more than two hours!

Josh Whitman flew to meet with Lovie and Underwood, if that can penetrate your Fortresses of Certainty at all.

but maybe his agent was

do not believe any thing you hear from coaches nor the schools looking for one

AD’s are famous for giving a coach a vote of confidence , only to fire him 3 days later

Source? Why do I feel like it’s steering toward Donovan?

What made no sense in your theory was an empty flight from Chicago to pick up someone in Lexington, only to go back to Chicago. Are there not private planes available in Kentucky? I would agree with you if the flight pattern was reversed.

I have no clue nor ever claimed to know who was on the planes, but it is not unreasonable for Kentucky to want to meet their candidates in person on campus. If Donovan really wants the job, he would most definitely sacrifice on some sleep to do what is necessary, as well as see the facilities. It is a bit of a sales job for both sides.

Legit their should be a hard knocks type show on how crazy this must be for the team/coaches

I appreciate you using my supposedly flawed logic right back at me.

Doesn’t change my point though. People fly 8 hours for two hour meetings all the time. Everyday. Especially when we’re talking 10 figure decisions. And people have time constraints and scheduling is hard. Especially when timelines are tight. There’s nothing unusual and reading too much into that.
