The new NCAA rule allows for 5 Assistant Coaches ... Only 3 of these coaches can recruit off campus ...

However - any of the 5 are allowed to recruit off campus if that makes sense ? Just not all 5 at a time ... Only 3 ... Which is why we have seen Tyler out at AAU events and he was super involved during the portal recruiting ...

So would it really be a demotion ? If Geoff's goal is to become a HC (which it is) ... Maybe more time on campus shadowing Brad would help than going overseas to recruit ... 🤷‍♂️ While still being able to go out and recruit sometimes ...

Wait, so the new rule means you don't have to specify which AC's are in the "off-campus recruiting position"? As long as you only ever have 3 ACs on the road at a time? That changes things a lot.

And regarding your last sentence.....seems like you need to buy Geoff a beer and sell him on it my guy! :D:D

From my understanding ... That is the current rule or a proposed rule that is going to get passed ...

I know UK had 4 different assistants on the road this year ... We have had Tyler on the road ... 3 assistants on the road is the rule ...

I just don't know the exact wording of the rule or if it's a proposed rule change and simply don't have the time to go look for it ... LOL ...

But it is something that teams have explored and are going to explore moving forward ...

Rochester
UK was going to lose their entire team anyways ...

The recruiting class I have been told some will open and others will follow Cal ...

If Drew got the job at UK ... The team would nearly all follow him there ... He would be hiring at least 1 new assistant though ... AB3 and Jared would go with him ...
Ray J?...........sorry, I had to

So, is it safe to assume that if we are able to bring OA back, it raises our chances of landing Bradshaw significantly or almost guarantees it?

I had 3 friends who are bat s*it crazy UK fans email me , asking about my thoughts on Coach BU to UK.........I told them that I
thought BU is not mature enough for the high brow UK fandom.........my thoughts were based on................................

1.......He makes fart noises in public all the time , even in pressers.........very immature....
2......He eats popcorn like a 3 year old and needs a sippy cup for all liquids.....very immature.....
3......The embarrassing video of his obscene topless water soaker exploits in the locker room......very very immature.....

Told them these 3 examples are just the tip of the immaturity iceberg........ I really really did..........

They all emailed me back , thanking me for my honesty.......they really really did.......can't make this crap up......lol...........

That's exactly what I suggested to try to bring Boynton here, fire one of the non-recruiting assistants (not Brad's son) and give Geoff same salary and maybe a new title, but just not as much recruiting. Make room for a really good recruiter and higher profile assistant that would be a big upgrade to the staff overall.

Sounds like he's considering that for OA, just not Boynton

How the heck is that monitored? Looks like a lot of grey areas that are exploited.
Stay on campus and text? …. Or have someone else text the players from their work phone (can point to those if ever audited) with an adjutant speaking to players while they are there on site, thus technically not speaking to recruits?

Lol I’m sure it gets exploited in some way. I suppose that could be an interesting part of being a coach, how creative you can get in covering your tracks. Read up on some ‘behind the scenes at the cia’-type books. Purchased with cash and no receipts of course.

Alright, as objectively as you can, where does the current Illinois job rank as far as college basketball coaching landing spots?

If only the national guys just followed you and others, quoting their sources as "Illinois Loyalty Boardman made money off it.

But we got the tech money, no? Larry Ellison? The WolframAlpha money? Youtube money?

For sure, we got richer alumni on average than Arkansas.

I guess tech nerds in general just care less about sports, college sports in particular

Arkansas kind of reminds me of a hyper-version of my hometown of Peoria in some ways, haha. A lot of outsiders focus on the more socioeconomically disadvantaged areas, and this helps to form the perception of that city/state ... but there is a ton more old money than a lot of other places and way more than the average person realize. Both seem incredibly segregated.
