Now that OA has become official, was this brads idea the whole time? Did he force Chet out so he could get OA? Or was this really all just incredibly lucky timing?
I doubt that Chet was forced out. He went from being assistant coach to associate head coach. We were lucky that OA had a choice of landing places after Calipari moved.

I think it was definitely a nudge. I believe OA was open even before Calipari took the Arkansas job. Timing worked out perfectly. I liked Chester as a player, at least his Senior season, and as a coach but I think this works out better for everyone. Chester worked that title into his deal at WV and hopefully that serves him well.

Coaches are just like players in this day and age. If there's a better one out there, you may not be here next year.

I’m picturing a conversation that went very similar to the type had with players who aren’t expected to see much time as new guys come in. “Totally understand if you need to make a move here and we’d be happy to help you find the best situation”

Just read an article at SB Nation about OA, very positive. However, there was a comment about Alan Huss being the temporary assistant until OA arrives. Anyone know what that comment means?
I just looked him up. This seems like an interesting sub-story. Any info. on this?

I can’t tell if this is a “Welcome to big time basketball and we just did what needed to be done to have the best coaching staff available.” Or “Frazier was my guy and he got screwed in this process.”

College coaching is a Dog eat Dog business. When your job depends on winning at a high level, you produce or you are gone. When you make 500 K a year you need better than Sincere, Epps and Amani. Watch the talent level go through the roof now. The Illini are becoming a Blue Blood with Brad and Co.
Chester and our former guys can have great success at WVU and it can still nonetheless be true that the fit wasn’t optimal here in terms of roster building and development strategy.

There is more than one path to success. I will be rooting for our guys down ole country roads for sure. I’ve always liked that program anyway because of how badly behaved their student section is.

And now we’ve hit a grand slam replacement and are off on our own journey
