I'm gonna catch hell about the top ten coach remark...

All I gotta say is start naming top coaches *in no order here*
Self
Hurley
Izzo
Kelvin Sampson
Painter
Scheyer
Chris Beard
TJ
Shaka
Sean Miller
Scott Drew
Pitino
Nate Oats
Mark Few
Rick Barnes
Bruce P...Voldemort

Argument for more like
Cronin, McDermott, Dusty May...

I'm not here to argue the list, just to illustrate a point
Using that AP methodology eh? Gut feel first, data optional?

If and until Bruce Pearl wins a national title, I agree with you.

The second that event happens, I don’t. At that point, I’m happy to sell my soul for a coach who can legitimately win a national title. We are past the Ron Guenther hiring philosophy now.

The Big East has been a top heavy league for a few years and especially this year. So relative to past years, it’s down this year and worse than every power conference league other than maybe the ACC. I get the injury argument but losing a Long Beach State transfer big in October should not result in a missed bid. He’s a good coach but to act like he’s elite? Sorry I think you’re a bit biased here.

If you don’t think Sean’s an elite coach … I got nothing for ya …

His resume makes Brad’s look JV … Period …

I like Brad but his resume doesn’t stack up with the other 15-20 coaches I’d say are “elite” … I think the potential is there to get to that point but he’s made 1 run since he’s been here …

I hate that there is a complex about BU might leave the past couple of seasons and it’s only February. If he leaves, that would be his problem. Let’s enjoy the championship level basketball that is currently operating in this great state. This train ain’t stopping.

ry, i’m from the future. i have some bad news. bumping not because i think brad should be fired, but inviting anyone worried about losing him to ku or unc to post that on one of their boards to see what kind of reaction you’ll get.

What happens if (BIG if there) Whitman tells Underwood he has to let Tyler and Hamer go, but Brad refuses?

He can let Underwood go if he so chooses. I wonder if "insubordination" is an appropriate cause.
This is kinda what I'm wondering. Would Underwood go into full "dad protect" mode? Would he prefer to move to a program like Oklahoma if they agree to let him bring Tyler along? Again, these things won't happen, but I'm really curious to see how it would play out if Whitman tries to force him to drop his son and Hamer.
