Indy, have you heard if Geoff has a shot at a HC position? I'd like to see him hired as a HC to see what he can do.

Who is Josh back channeling with? Any word on actual contacts with some of the names you've floated as BU replacements? Assuming/hoping he is contingency planning.

Hmmmm. So if we manage to win tomorrow, does that make Brad more or less appealing to Texas? Obviously an impressive win looks good for him, as does a second trip to the sweet 16 in as many years, but it would also delay them solidifying a move for another week, whereas Self, along with Sean Miller, would be "available" right away, in theory.

(Regardless of outcome tomrrow, I'm hoping we can hang on to Brad this carousel season and run it back again next year with a returning core of at least Tomi, Morez and Boswell)

Miller intentionally running a zone at the under-4, when his team is down double digits and needs to increase the pace for more possessions, was one of the more bone-headed decisions of the tournament. That he continued to run it almost to under 90 seconds....
I guess I need to re-watch…but when was it that he went to that zone press and dropped back in the half court man?

That was even before the under-4, with his team down double digits right? I could be wrong when that occurred…but he did try to mix it up at least.

Interesting. So Brad's people are chatting with Texas. I still think it's Miller's job to lose unless Self is ready to leave Kansas.

I wouldn't be worried at all about Brad leaving.

Why would BU leave? He's making top 10 money for coaches and, from what I read on here, a fan base who considers the season a success because they made the tourney and won a game. With that $ and expectations a coach would be an absolute fool to leave. Myself, I don't care if he stays or goes. We aren't a blue blood by any stretch but if we are actually paying that much to a coach then a 2nd weekend season should be a reasonable expectation. I don't give 2 💩 about conference wins and championships as a criteria. I more care about wins in the tournament. Conference stuff would seem to take care of itself with tournament success. JMO and truly don't care if you agree or not.

Thats music to my ears.love the momentum he's building like the previous poster said if we can get a win tomorrow that'd be consecutive sweet 16s with our nil and winning ways you'd think that'd have to be encouraging to potential Recruits going forward

The bigger question for Illinois is who will be the assistant coaches next year. I really can't complain much about the offense this year. I could be wrong, but some of the issues come from lack of practice continuity due to illness and injuries, and youth. Defensively, there definitely needs to be a change.

And Brad has nothing to do with the fact that we have better players AND helps donors feel comfortable with adding to NIL funds???
