I figure Geoff would take the Eastern job if it opens and he is asked. That would be a huge loss on the recruiting front, especially internationally.

Ehhh ... Idk if I would say huge loss ... Would depend on who we bring in ...

And that's not to discount anything Geoff has done ... But anytime there is transition, there is always the opportunity to upgrade ...

I don’t think Geoff would be bringing in Euros to EIU….think he would still push them here

Without airing too many details out there ... Golden and his circle feel like the University really didn't back him when it came to the allegations ... They found nothing and instead of defending their guy, they are almost like "you're on thin ice" kind of a deal if that makes sense ...

The Mrs. HATES Gainesville ... The fans and some members of the administration could not have treated her any worse throughout that entire process ... And that is their opinion and based on the details I have been told, I share that opinion ...

It is also worth noting that she grew up in Texas and her parents still live in Texas ...
Presumably the full investigation findings are in his employment file and can be requested by him, if he doesn't already have them. If they are more exculpatory than the University's public statements, is there anything preventing him from releasing it on his own?

I get and am sympathetic to the TSJ comparison and the fact that I have heavily criticized defenses of Beard while not criticizing Golden or pro-Golden sentiments should say something. But an important distinction is that TSJ went through a public trial that went at the heart of the allegations against him and was exonerated by a jury of his peers. Golden went through a narrow, non-public investigation that focused solely on whether there was evidence of a Title IX violation. I don't consider him guilty, but I also think it's inaccurate to say he's been exonerated, and I can't say whether the University found "nothing" because I can't actually review the investigation results myself.

In the case of Golden, just as in the case of TSJ, I will continue to hold the presumption of his innocence. Just as easily as seeing a coach as a stalker, a case could be made for a group deciding to take him down. I don't blame them for wanting to leave. In the same situation, I would regardless of whether I had done anything sketchy.

BU may push players that may not get a lot of PT at U of I to EIU for a year to get experience and help out a former assistant coach. Then year 2 bring that player to U of I and a prominent role on the team with $$$ attached

Why not Golden to Indiana? Golden brings as many players as he can from Florida, including his 7'-9" redshirt. If Geoff to EIU, he won't get the elite euros, EIU doesn't have the budget.

The element that I always come back to on this is that the allegations that were made are extremely black and white. If he was sending d pics and/or creepy messages then the accusers would easily be able to provide them to the investigators or just flat out post them online themselves. The fact that neither of these have happened leads one to believe that it didn't occur. And if that's the case, as Indy has alluded, I'm sure the Golden's are pissed that the University just quietly announced that there wasn't definitive evidence to discipline rather than back his innocence.

Do we know that though? My understanding is the investigation found there was no Title IX violation. We don't know the basis for that finding. It could be the alleged actions did not happen. It could also be that the alleged actions were not considered to violate Title IX. We just don't know. If there was a definitive finding nothing happened, Golden could just release the report and exonerate himself to the public, right? And maybe he will, if he ever files this defamation suit he was talking about at one point.

Regarding the Todd Golden to UCLA nuggets from the last thread - if Golden's wife is concerned about the context of the Title IX allegations, seems to me like UCLA isn't going to exactly lessen that context.

Headline: Attractive Young Women Attend Universities

If the guy has a thing with a specific woman in Florida, then moving will help with that.

But all universities have attractive young people. Ultimately, it's on him to not be a slimeball wherever he goes.

do you get the sense that Golden’s agent is just putting his name out there for every job to ultimately get a huge raise/extension from UF?
Do Golden and Underwood have the same agent?

Ah, the inevitable step toward major programs turning mid-majors into their farm teams...

Why are all the Greater Chicagoland jobs such graveyards? Loyola seems to be the only exception and only achieved that very recently.
DePaul isn't. They're getting legitimately better. They shelled out money for a coach that Ohio State should have never fired and promised him NIL money. They weren't a push over. I wouldn't be shocked if they're in the NIT next year.
