From the previous Coaching Carousel thread, Mark Few has gone to the Sweet 16 13 times (over the last 24 years that there was a tournament)
  • 2000, 2001, 2006, 2009, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 Mark is a very good coach.

That’s a wild scenario … But one you have to definitely consider …

Wade would be on the list … Beard would be on the list … McCasland would be on the list … Byington would be on the list … Mack would be on the list …
If Brad were to leave, Wade and McCasland would be mighty fine replacements! Would Wade come this far north? He can find some solid duck and deer hunting to scratch his itch. Gator hunting may be an issue.

If those chairs get filled like redwingillini11 says, I say get Beard. By that point, I'd be tired of 1) Underwood finally being done playing Whitman to get more money every season and 2) always being the only program that sticks to a pretty rigid moral compass.

If a few eggs need to be broken in order to make really good omelette, fine by me.

I don’t think it’ll be Ivey … But he’s being mentioned … Boosters want him interviewed …

I’ll be interested to see if CDC makes the move quick or he waits to see if he can reel in the big fish with Golden …

If Golden does leave Florida … Brad & Sean would both be in the mix there as well …

If Sean does leave Xavier … I’ll be absolutely shocked if it’s not Chris Mack replacing him …
I think Golden can coach so as a Bama fan I am hoping he leaves Florida for a job out of the SEC.

You would think, but the fact that he hasn't been let go already seems to suggest otherwise

season hasn't ended. and, as alluded by an insider, a responsibilties/title shift is much more likely than an outright canning

If I'm Iowa, I would be approaching this search now with bold conversations on names that are more unconventional.

Jerome Tang
Steve Alford
Chris Holtmann
Archie Miller
John Beilein

....should have kept Fran and pumped in an extra $1.5 million in roster retention and forced him to make a staff change.

Bill Armstrong will be replacing Will Wade … Not sure if I’ve posted that here or not … Can’t hardly keep track sometimes … Lol …
Lol…..this is all happening during the tourney.

Texas will call Oats … He’ll say no … I continue to hear watch for him to go to Kansas when Self is done …

I mentioned Snyder on here a long time ago … He’s just way down the list … I don’t think it gets that far …

Scott Drew didn’t take Kentucky or Louisville … He’s not taking a job in the same state he’s already in …

I would say Sean is the priority at this point …
Oats seems like the perfect pick for the Kansas job...they'll be dangerous for decades with him

Indy, In a hypothetical, if offered Illinois or Texas for similar packages, which do you think Sean Miller would choose?

Illinois …

For a lot of reasons but mainly … Easier league to win year in and year out … AD is one of, if not the best in the business … Sean would also LOVE to get back to recruiting internationally, it’s just not as easy at Xavier …

You said resources are equal so that’s essentially a wash … Facilities are actually pretty equal, may give Texas the slight edge … He could really upgrade his staff …

And Illinois is a basketball school … Texas is not …
