If Tyler was in fact offered a NBA position, he absolutely should have taken it. Brad should have told him to take it. He would have learned a great deal regardless of how it turned out in terms of wins and losses.
I get it - Brad probably did miss a lot of him growing up grinding through the lower coaching ranks like he did for so long. But man, if you want what's best for your kid and he wants to coach, you have to do everything short of ordering him to take the NBA position or "firing" him so he has to take the NBA position.
There's an old story that when country music star Luke Bryan was wavering about going to Nashville because he was close to his family after his brother unexpectedly passed away a few years earlier, Luke's dad gave him the choice of going to Nashville to pursue his country music dream or being fired from his job working on his dad's farm. Seemed to work out OK for Luke in that case.

we've known for months now, if not years. same thing redundant. My main question is why is he still on the staff.
Kwa was hired in a temporary capacity … Got no hate for that guy … He should be good for the role he was hired to do … Continue to learn and develop and he’ll be an assistant soon … Even if it’s not here …
