They’re going to Villanova the Mavericks to a NBA Finals ChampionshipCan't wait to watch the Mavs do something absolutely insane to position them to draft both Morez & Mara (and also for it to not pan out)

One could assume they're going to save quite a bit of money hiring Mike this year vs. paying Dusty and they can now use that to possibly throw some more money at the roster to keep guys around?
The reason for promoting Mike is to keep the roster together.![]()

Let the exodus commence…
The only problem with Boynton is that our games with them will get much too cuddly now between the coaches.
The other B1G coaches hating Juwan Howard gave it the right energy.
And now I'm remembering Izzo and Bruce palling around before IL-MSU games 15 yrs ago and need a strong palate cleanser.I hate that my brain immediately went to cuddling Izzo....and now I have to go take a shower.
I would be shocked if they didn’t lose anyone , but I highly doubt they lose more than 2.One could assume they're going to save quite a bit of money hiring Mike this year vs. paying Dusty and they can now use that to possibly throw some more money at the roster to keep guys around?
All of the B1G coaches, including Brad, are revoltingly reverential to Izzo. As are all the reporters. And now I'm remembering Izzo and Bruce palling around before IL-MSU games 15 yrs ago and need a strong palate cleanser.
And even more shocking if it's anyone who is going to play a lot. There can't be too many teams left with the dollars available to match what the main guys are getting at Michigan.I would be shocked if they didn’t lose anyone , but I highly doubt they lose more than 2.
Better make that a decontamination shower...I hate that my brain immediately went to cuddling Izzo....and now I have to go take a shower.
My early guess is because Michigan has a lot of money and is coming off a national title (and they are making interim coaching moves to try and keep the roster intact). This will hold some of the dropoff for the moment. The longterm outlook is what should make the rest of us relatively happy. Great news to see May out of Ann Arbor.Michigan moved to 12 to 1 to win it all on Fanduel after the news. Circa has hardly moved, +850. They were right around 8 to 1 everywhere before this news. I am surprised there hasn't been a sharper, more immediate reaction. Coaches have so much influence over a program at the college level, this has to seriously hurt their potential for this season.
The power of 1-way markets I suppose.![]()
Looks like the changes are trickling in at other books- Draftkings has them at +1400 now. They might be the first book (aside from Kalshi) to drop UM below us.My early guess is because Michigan has a lot of money and is coming off a national title. This will hold some of the dropoff for the moment. After the news settles in, though, I expect some serious movement. In that respect, I also would not be entirely surprised if some books actually lock out betting for Michigan. Just a crazy Monday morning news drop, and I do not feel bad for Michigan at all (though they will be able to withstand this news better than other programs).

Schertz would be a fantastic get imo so hopefully no.Josh Schertz?
He had a great thing going at Michigan and could have settled in there and won for a decade. He had money to play with, he got whatever kids he wanted, the compensation was pretty outstanding and after winning a national championship, he probably had a lifetime contract lined up.Hope Dusty has better luck than Fred Hoiberg had in Chicago.
Seems to have the "it" factor / mojo, on top of the X's and O's.
BU is at his dream jobtough for UM. also, man did IU miss out on their potential golden goose. love pointing that out again
if BU were to leave today, I imagine OA would be the guy, at least for the season
Yeah, they're kind of stuck. He left everyone in a pretty tough spot by taking this gig so late in the game. The reason for promoting Mike is to keep the roster together.
I think you've gotta be a pretty good strategist/game manager/X and Os guy, which is what helps keep the players happy. The NBA is a whole different ordeal. I don't think that you have to be a great X's and O's guy and you definitely can't have an overwhelming personality. In college, if players are unhappy, they transfer. In the NBA, if players are unhappy, you're fired and black balled.
Lol.Just remember - if Brad’s name doesn’t come up for the Michigan job. That should tell you a lot about what the national viewpoint of him is.

I don’t think it’s gutsy because of the paragraph you said above, he could get just about any job he wants in college…like Kentucky next year if he flames out.He had a great thing going at Michigan and could have settled in there and won for a decade. All that said, his value will never be higher than it is right now and the good news for him is that if he fails miserably, getting back to a top tier college job, a year after being an analyst on CBS or ESPN.....he won't have to look hard.
Gutsy move and only time will tell if it was the right decision.
That thought occurred to me as well. Delightful.tough for UM. also, man did IU miss out on their potential golden goose. love pointing that out again

College coaches are definitely making a ton of money but NBA money can be a different level if the owners want to spend it on a coach. May was on 5 for 25 million before the championship and likely got a raise(or would have). He had a great thing going at Michigan and could have settled in there and won for a decade. He had money to play with, he got whatever kids he wanted, the compensation was pretty outstanding and after winning a national championship, he probably had a lifetime contract lined up.
