Lets hope Indiana holds out for Alford, gets burned, and then has to hire a fallback.

Feels nice to have disembarked the carousel before it gets dizzying. I'll be able to enjoy it more.

Who does T Boone want at Okie St?

I throw some money at Bryce Drew -- hes a perfect fit for that conference. Coaching at Vandy is like coaching at NU - just a matter of time until you leave for a place you can win a conference title and make the tourney every year.

Do you get the feeling that Chris Collins plans on leaving NW?

I think Collins' days at NU are rather finite. He wont find it an easy place to get 21 W's year in and year out. He would be wise to keep an eye out for the best P5 opening with a legit shot of winning the league title every few years. Its not at NU. I wouldn't be surprised if he does have knowledge that few do, as to when K plans to retire.

when K does, I kinda doubt he gives everyone a years notice. could be in the next week or two, for all we know.

Sure. Immediately after Krzyzewski retires from Duke.

I imagine once K retires he'll choose which disciple of his will take his place and Duke will totally respect that. Idk, if this all planned or his guys are currently all auditioning. Gotta think Collins is in the best spot right now, right?

If Duke wins this year (which I don't expect) I think K retires. Otherwise, I think he has 2 years max left.

So, assistant thoughts? NG has reported Walker has one of the 3 spots. Here's Underwood's OSU staff:

Michael Boyton- With Underwood the last 5 years dating back to South Carolina. Imagine he's very likely to be at Illinois.

Lamont Evans- With Underwood 1 year at OSU and also a fellow assistant coach at KSU and South Carolina. Seems like an ace recruiter. I'd say he's likely to stay but doesn't have Illinois ties.

Danny Henderson- With Underwood 1 year at OSU. Seems very tied into the Texas High school scene. Won 4 Texas state championships and was national HS coach of the year. That's big for OSU, but not strategic here. Probably the odd man out? Probably a good hire for whoever the next OSU coach is.

Anyone know if Groce is on the market for a HC position? Based on his experience here I'd think he would be more suited as a highly paid assistant. He seems to have the soft skills, but lack the leadership qualities to drive a team.

Idk who makes sense I just hope that $$$ isn't a factor. Let's make a complete investment.

He could be a P5 assistant, but not here. I would expect him to go back to Ohio State if anything.

This is what I'm curious about. Who does OSU go after now? Bryce Drew would be fitting. Cowboys fans wouldn't have a whole lot of credibility to be able to stay mad at Underwood for leaving after only one year.

I figure they'll talk to Gotlieb, but I'm not convinced he's a good fit.

I loathe Alford, and I loathe Indiana. I'm selfishly hoping he jumps to Indiana, to further the trail of fan bases that loathe him, while at the same time creating the uberloathing team where I can plant my flag for the next 10 years.
