If you look around other message boards, there are rumors swirling about Chip Kelly and the UoI job.

Its a moot point. The people in Gainseville are convinced he will be the next Gators coach.

I think BB's buyout at Ark is pretty hefty, something like $12mil, so he might get another yr just on that basis alone.

With that kind of buyout, the Big Boy can perhaps hire a nutritionist and personal trainer and lose 100 lbs of ugly fat.

I read somewhere else that the buyout is only $5million. I don’t know which report is right.

I think it was already thrown out there in this thread, but Bielema to Nebraska?

He looked stupid at the time and even more so now. He had a really good thing at Wisconsin.

I always thought he was stupid going to Arkansas with the expectations of that school and fan base while trying to recruit and compete in the SEC. However, Gary Anderson abruptly left Wisconsin too. Makes me wonder if there is something at Wisconsin that coaches are finding unacceptable. Maybe it is simply salary, shadow of Alvarez, IDK...

Cannot imagine Nebby being dumb enough to hire BB. The guy got handed a ready made solid program at Wisky, won his share, then got to thinking he was somebody. Turns out he wasn't. Also funny was Mrs BB throwing trash at Wisky on their way out the door. Karma will come to visit soon.

Nebby has to do much better than that if they have any hope of regaining any relevance.

Every time I hear about Alvarez and Wisconsin it still sounds like he definitely has his say in things (more so than most ADs do, that is). And honestly, I completely forgot about Anderson being there...

I don't know, they hired Riley. And while I think Riley is a decent coach he isn't (nor will he ever be) what Nebraska ultimately wants.

Bielema may not be great, but he's good enough to not drive a program south of where they "should" be. I think if he did end up there they would be back to winning 8-9 games consistently.

FL, Mississippi, OR State, TN and UCLA definitely looking for new coaches.

Probably AK, NE, and _________?

I wonder whether there will be enough decent candidates around to fill all of the openings.

So why is it so many coaches have some initial success but can’t sustain it: Mora, Todd Graham, in our case Zook and Turner, while others break through to sustained success: Ferentz, Alvarez, Bill Snyder, Gary Patterson? Is it simply that the guys who don’t sustain it aren’t as good a coach as the guy who can? I should say program builder?

Do you think UCLA would take Fitzy off our hands? On the one hand he is an NW alum and they have their new facility and all - but he’s hit a glass ceiling there and well, it is LA.

I Dunno, but I recall ND was supposedly interested before they got Kelly, and he allegedly turned them down.

Ant Sec openings he be interested in coaching?

funny

because out of high school at Sandburg, he couldn't get any interest from Notre Dame nor U of I, two schools he would have gladly taken an offer from had he received one, but he didn't and holds a grudge against both schools to this day, especially us.

If a coach could do at IL what Coach Sumlin did at TX A&M, he would deserve (and probably get) a big statue outside the football stadium.

Six years, six bowl games? Yeah, there would definitely be a huge statue outside Sumlin Stadium.
