didn't even realize that Bryce Drew was now the coach at Grand Canyon. They won their first ever WAC regular season title in his first season. Have to believe that he will get another chance at a high major soon despite his horrid record at Vanderbilt. He coached some really solid teams at Valpo prior to his stint at Vandy and was able to sign multiple 5 * recruits at Vandy

Also wouldn’t worry about OA to NM....but he will have other head coaching opportunities this cycle or next that will be much more appealing to him. If you lose him or Chin you have to replace them with an ACE on the recruiting trail and there isn’t really a former Illini out there that fits that. Dee would be the best bet just because the Chicago ties.
Wow - really interesting. Great comments. This staff is super elite, I do believe.

I would guess BU has a short list of potential future coaches (similar to Whitman's list of Head Coaches) for when that opportunity arises. In fact, I think Gentry was at the top of that list when we pulled him from Gonzaga.

Think Dee is on that list?

Sure hope Dee is on the list would love to have him back. Guy bleeds orange and blue. Gotta think he could recruit the heck out of Chicago.

I know zilch about Assistant Coaches --- but I do think BU got it right. I saw Rev's name mentioned in another thread earlier today. He's got the Gonzaga resume going for him too.

Moser also has a contract extension he signed after the Final Four run that is set to keep him at the school through the 2025-26 season. While the terms weren't disclosed, he's believed to make at least as much if not more than what Ben Jacobson is making at Northern Iowa, which is about $900,000/year.

One place I could see Moser going is Northwestern. Kinda makes sense for both sides, but I think Northwestern likes and keeps Collins. Not sure if it's the right decision and not sure if Moser would really make much of a difference from Collins, but kinda interesting.

Minnesota is definitely opening. No idea who they go after. Pitino was a very random hire.

Indiana would be a very expensive change and would go after some huge names, not sure I see it happening this year.

Penn State will get some random east coast mid major guy probably. Would entertain the idea of Martelli even though he's old, just to try to get some sort of foundation there.

They give Collins one more year. If he can't get it done with the roster next year that is basically identical to this year's team then he's never going to do it.

Regarding Penn State, I'm surprised nobody is giving Ferry a chance to get the full-time job? Seems like they really played hard for him.

Have to believe DePaul will be opening up. When AD comes out and says I didn’t come here to finish last, and coach doesn’t have a buyout — well not good signs.

Yeah. I don't know enough about Ferry. I could see Penn State doing that, but this is a good time to change if they want to go that direction.

I think Collins and Miller get 1 more year, but I don't think it's the right decision.

Agree, heard Miller has a huge buyout.

Why would he want to step into an almost unwinnable location?

If McDermott gets canned, I'd guess he has a strong chance to take over at his alma mater, Creighton.

Had no idea he played at Creighton. Yeah that move would make sense too, and be a better situation than Northwestern. I guess I just don't see Moser as a surefire P5 coach. He'd need the right, comfortable situation to succeed. Creighton would be a good challenge for him, and probably near his hiring ceiling. Northwestern would give him a long leash, and I don't see their demands as being too high, but how badly would he want to scrap to occasionally reach the middle of the pack in the B1G? That's a hell of a grind.

I was surprised to see that Rashon Burno took that NIU job. I figured he would be a top contender for DePaul. I guess DePaul must have someone else in mind. I would think if they wanted Burno, someone would have let Burno know to wait. Unless Burno was never interested in DePaul.

Northwestern isn't going to find anyone better than Collins. Moser isn't leaving Loyola for NU. I've sat behind the Loyola bench before and seen Moser in action. Would not want him representing my school or coaching my son.
