Report: Mark Turgeon could be looking for exit from Maryland; possibly eyeing Power Five job in Midwest
Turgeon’s up-and-down relationship with Maryland fans goes back years, and according to
a Monday night VIP story from 247Sports’ Maryland affiliate InsideMDSports’ Jeff Ermann, things could be in limbo between the two sides.
On Tuesday’s
The Sports Junkies on 106.7FM The Fan in Washington D.C., Jason “Lurch” Bishop cited a source saying Turgeon is possibly looking for an exit from the program.
“Someone close to the program said (Turgeon) has been looking for power-five jobs back in the Midwest,”
Bishop said. “That he is looking to get back home. He's from Topeka, Kansas. He was sniffing around the Wichita State job after they let go of Marshall, but Wichita State hired the assistant for a five-year deal. That's just a rumor. All rumors. But the guy told me Turg might be fed up with the pace of DC, get back home, slow it down a little bit."
