I know this is only one guy, but Goode was outspoken about Gentry being his guy and why he chose the Illini. Are we sure that Gentry isn't recruiting much?

Someone that is knowledgeable about basketball. Has experience running a team. Can grow a sick mustache. Will spark debate regarding their athletic ability quicker than you can say, “French Lick”.

Barnes track record of NBA players, mainly Kevin Durant, Kim English on coaching staff and the development of/success of the 18-19 team with Admiral Schofield, Grant Williams, Jordan Bone, Lamonte Turner and Jordan Bowden was a direct correlation to him landing said 5 star recruits.

I don’t think it’s even a controversial opinion to say success, especially more recent success, leads to better players wanting to play for you. But again, I don’t want anyone to misunderstand or misconstrue the importance specifically of Kim English on the recruitment of those players.

The hope is that they’re back, obviously, but if we’re talking personal favorites as replacements then Mennenga would be an incredible hire. Would take a lot.
