He definitely had a cloud over him from his South Florida tenure, but his recruiting prowess at Kentucky was well remembered.OA was unquestionably a slam dunk hire.
OA was unquestionably a slam dunk hire.
With the Hokies: Frazier has had a knack of developing talent in his coaching tenure and that has rung true so far his first two years in Blacksburg, helping Keve Aluma break out for an All-ACC season in 2020-21 and Wabissa Bede owning the sixth-best assist-turnover ratio in the country (3.34) in 2019-20. Frazier, a tremendous scouter, was also fundamental in Tech’s upset wins over then-No. 3 Villanova in 2020-21 and then-No. 3 Michigan State in 2019-20. He was vital in breaking the ACC record for most 3-pointers made in a game with 21 in 2019-20, as well as getting the Hokies to the NCAA Tournament in 2020-21 to extend their streak to a school-record four straight appearances.

Weren’t Chicago connections the draw with Chin?I mean, OA was a pretty slam dunk hire at the time. Chin was a big unknown.
Probably has something to do with it. He’s following his pattern here without a Jerrence Howard to get him nba level talent. I wish this would have happened a month ago. Jerrance could have been on the table. Is it a coincidence that Weber’s teams have been 11-21 and 9-20 in the two years since Chet left KSU?? Asking for a friend.
I liked this post purely for the enthusiasm and attitude. Not sure I agree 100% though.I'll even throw in a sweet Loyalty Hot Take for y'all!

I know, right? Thought today would be the day. I am looking for the announcements and then looking forward to Whitman acting swiftly on replacementsSo... is today the day that all the big news is supposed to break?
Jerrance wouldn't even be considered for the job(s).Probably has something to do with it. He’s following his pattern here without a Jerrence Howard to get him nba level talent. I wish this would have happened a month ago. Jerrance could have been on the table.
Then who is? Seems reasonable to think Chet is considering an offer as we speak. Anyone else?Jerrance wouldn't even be considered for the job(s).

An offer? from one meeting? Brad has communicated with numerous different coaches. Then who is? Seems reasonable to think Chet is considering an offer as we speak. Anyone else?
All I'll say that is that Hokie fans absolutely love Chester Frazier out here. I've seen and heard it myself. He would be a rockstar addition to our staff. One of the best defensive players I've ever seen play for us and it looks like he can coach it as well.
Get Mennenga as well and we're in great shape. Get it done BU and JW
Mennenga?Lost me, too. Who is Mendenhall?
Did I highlight the objection? For those of us in the laughable position of not seeing why we should be excited about Chester coming in as AC can you enlighten us to why this is a slam dunk?
Alumni with p5 experience as an assistant coach at KSU under Weber and VaTech. So that's not nothing. But it feels like a downgrade from OA/Chin/Gentry. Maybe downgrade was inevitable, but it doesn't scream great hire unless alumni was one of your criteria.
Looking forward to getting excited about Chester coming back.
