The ideal recruiter will have;
1. Strong Chicago ties.
2. Known nationwide and internationally.
3. Know and love the game.
4. Strong sales skills. Very persuasive.
5. Welcomed to parents living rooms.
6. Mom's must really like him.
7. Ability to get young people to follow him.

It's clear we need to open up the checkbook and make a serious offer to former Pres Obama.

Calipari has a lifetime contract: https://www.forbes.com/sites/adamza...at-kentucky-worth-86-million/?sh=4136bcc8e384

Whether or not he has another down year, you're not going to find too many other college situations with more stability at the top. This is a great move for Chin no matter how you slice it. I don't like it, but it is what it is.
Jim Valvano's book about getting bounced from N.C. State after major NCAA violations was called "They Gave Me a Lifetime Contract and then They Declared Me Dead."

It’s young or pinkins right now. Think we end up hiring 3 new assistants though.
Coaching intrigue finally got me to post.

Seems like the early speculation of Mike Mennenga and mutual interest has quieted. Did he/we move on or was he never really an option?

Also any interest in Armon Gates from Nebraska from either side?

Some buzz on Mike but think he is happy out west. Some mutual interest in Armon but think he is lower on BUs list.

Too bad it's late in the game. Orlando went back to Kentucky, there was an Illinois guy out there that might have listened to an offer to come back...Jerrance Howard

Appreciate the info!

Not too surprised about to hear that about Mike, would have really soften the blow of losing OA.

I would've thought Armon would be a higher priority since he's got good experience as an assistant at big ten programs such as Nebraska and Northwestern and experience at Florida. All that and seems to have ties to the Chicago area.

Oh I think you could.
Interesting that Chicago ties/connections do not seem to be overly important to BU in this search. Between Chester/Young/Pinkins.....I don’t any. Are we throwing in the towel on Chicago and focusing elsewhere for our future players?

I mean there's gonna be politics anywhere you go but Chicago seems to be a special kind of crazy. I'm biased tho.
