Brilliant, Joel. Does BU or JW have your resume???4D chess. Now we gotta get WIU to offer Bergeron Irvin's slot. Ergo, Mitchell. 5D chess.

Also hiring Nick cuts Chins legs out from under him.
What doors did Chin open? Ayo that’s it. If Chins still here Casey doesn’t even sniff us. Trust me he’s no great loss. This is the seminal reason that losing Chin may be more painful than OA. Losing a national recruiter to a more prestigious program just means you need to target a different recruiter that can open different doors than were provided by OA. Losing Chin means you need to find someone that can open the same doors (Chicago) but also be a better recruiter against someone who's at a more prestigious program. It's going to be a challenge.
This alone makes the hire worth itAlso hiring Nick cuts Chins legs out from under him.

Assistant to the regional manager is definitely a position
Irvin and Alexander would do exactly what you describe as difficult. So not really hard at all. This is the seminal reason that losing Chin may be more painful than OA. Cal reads this forum on the daily. He will now be hiring Nic Irvin....great, thanks for leaking it
Your move Cal...

What am I missing with Alexander? From his bio, it seems like he's really tied into Illinois/Indiana, especially central Illinois. Why has he been sitting in a non-recruiting role for the last four years?Irvin and Alexander would do exactly what you describe as difficult. So not really hard at all.

And everybody wants to be in bed with the Irvin’s. Good luck with that.If asked, I hope Nick tells Brad the MIF Twitter was hacked. Because everything involving Chicago recruiting seems to be nutso and overly complicated.
I get that we are collectively at a specific point in the grieving stage so this might not be a popular take for some of you but there is a reason that Kentucky hired Chin. He has a connection to a very popular AAU program in a city that is very dependent on having "relationships" with certain programs as a precursor for securing commitments. He also was effective in recruiting in areas outside of Chicago. Let's not all-the-sudden act like he was an anchor on the program.
Chill man. The context of this was in relation to the replacement of Chin. Not in regards to what you decided to inferIf it wasn't that difficult the program would be swimming in Chicago-related recruits and we wouldn't be discussing the challenges of recruiting inside the city hundreds of times a year on this board.
Isn't the reason because they had 2 openings to fill and OA and Chin were to them the best candidates willing to go there?I get that we are collectively at a specific point in the grieving stage so this might not be a popular take for some of you but there is a reason that Kentucky hired Chin.

wait assistant to the head coach is a real position? I thought that was an Office joke
Based on the comments on this Board over the 2 weeks, there is a ton to like about the new staff if it closes out that way.Antigua, Chin, Gentry -> Frazier, Alan Huss, Alexander (with Nick Irvin taking his previous role)
Can't be mad at that, especially with having to replace your entire staff in the same time frame.
I think the only place he’d leave Illinois for is a decent HC job. What am I missing with Alexander? From his bio, it seems like he's really tied into Illinois/Indiana, especially central Illinois. Why has he been sitting in a non-recruiting role for the last four years?
