Ditto that.
In the past 50 years Milford has gone downhill. Lots of people left/no jobs and farming is almost nothing. I have been to CP maybe 1-2 times and not in the past 50 years. How is that town now?

Iroquois County needs an Iroquois East. The only problem I see is what does CP do. They are kind of away from any consolidation that makes sense. Damn I miss Iroquois County Basketball of the 70's and 80's.
My Dad would take off work and me school in state tourney time. I remember Boogie Redman and Cazzy Russel playing.

I have no insight here but it seems like its going to be a guy from the NBA. We have people on here spouting we need a guy who knows recruiting. We hired a head coach who was suppose to be this great recruiter in Groce. He failed to land a lot of players and his coaching was terrible. Indiana hired a career pro guy in Woodson after hiring a guy who was suppose to be a great coach and recruiter. My point here is that all college players at this level knows how recruiting works, They were recruited by many assistants and coaches. It is not like they walk into a kids house not knowing what to say or do. We have two solid college recruiters on staff. Why not get a guy who knows and understands the pro game? Juwan Howard has no college coaching experience but it seemed to work for him at Michigan. He is grabbing top level talent. So why not a guy like a Brian Randle or any young up and coming coach who might want to get back on the college game? I am not saying BR would be my top choice but I would take a hard look at an NBA guy.
I’m not a big fan of hiring an NBA guy, but then again I don’t have a vote that matters. But using Juwan Howard or Penny Hardaway as examples of why it can work seems kind of silly to me. Juwan’s name recognition with high schoolers is well beyond the typical NBA assistant. Brian Randle nor any of the other NBA names I’ve seen mentioned on her have anywhere near the same cache as Howard. Could they do the job well? I have no idea, but in time they probably could. I just prefer a current college coach who has recruiting connections.

Just read the last few pages of the carousel to get myself caught up on all the hot insider news. Farting, Duke and UNC sucking and trips down memory lane. There!!! I'm all caught up! For the love of God can we hire an assistant so we can bury this thread forever.

Complete and total closure after a decision has been made? Have you learned nothing from the Adam Miller thread?

Yes, he is the realist of real as he perfected paying his players and being able to get away with it. The poor player who lost expensive jewelry in a robbery, the player whose mom got a great job, etc.etc. Its a great world where we worship those who are best at cheating. Kind of like Calipari-get great players by playing "the game of recruiting" and then be considered a great coach because of all the talent.
Wooden was pretty darn good at it, not to mentioned Rupp.

Beaverville. North of Donovan and Iroquois. We would take our cattle to Decker's Milford sale barn.

I think with the $18 mil tax increase to renovate the high school, Milford really envisioned itself as an Iroquois East but keeping the name. But that doesn't make a ton of sense with Watseka just 11 miles away. Iroquois County is kinda tough, its a big area but has such a small and declining population. I really only see it having 4-5 high schools in the near future.
