My guess is they’re in contract discussions with Walters now, as Walters explores other offers. If Walters chooses to stick with IL, I’m sure he’ll get a big fat raise.

Edit: not sure that this directly affects Walters. In general, it sounds like Bama is interested and in Walters. Seeing staff changes makes me think things are heating up in the carousel.

Happens all the time when a coaching change happens. You guys just got a first hand look at it. And he’s not exactly wrong, they went 1-11
What if BB had done that last year? I dont know if they suck, or the coaching sucked, or both. I thought a lot more highly of our players once they received coaching. I get that some players will be nudged out.

And they didn't just go 1-11 either. They got creamed in every game but one. Not sure there's anything on the D to build from and other than a good freshman receiver, the O is wide open as well.

I know that this isn't how things work (there's obviously the question of money, and individual's attachments to certain places), but wouldn't the idea of Brohm considering Louisville imply that:

Cincy >> Louisville >> Purdue?

To me that would be about exactly backwards, but what do I know?
Brohm is a UL alum. That is the only allure.

I did know that (was alluding to it in the "attachment" comment), but would still be very surprised if Brohm is really interested in leaving Purdue for Louisville. I'm equally surprised that someone would leave Louisville for Cincinnati.

Clearly what Deion is doing is 1. Warning players that they will have to earn their spot on his team and it won't be easy, 2. Motivating them for that challenge, 3. Weeding out players who won't buy in.

That's what you want from a new coach, especially one taking over a severely struggling program. I'd be shocked it BB didn't have some version of this same conversation with our players when he took over.

Yes, he is all that, but there’s a lot more to the guy.
For anyone who didn’t see it, here is a feature on “Coach Prime” from 60 Minutes, which aired a few weeks ago:
Thanks for the link! Will watch later. I've been a fan of Deion Sanders since I was a kid. For someone to simply write him off as one of those "cocky/arrogant" pro athletes is pretty disrespectful. I can see how he can rub some folks the wrong way with his alpha bold style of confidence but the man backs it up and has been doing so ever since he was a young man. There's a reason why he's nicknamed "Primetime" after all.
