Given that we were winless against first year coaches this year, I’d belay that enthusiasm.

Candle was 26-19 going into this season after Campbell's recruits were gone. This year has been magical, but not sure decision makers have been enthralled with his body of work. Personally, I would love for Indiana to hire him. Goes back to my previous statement, hiring a Goliath (in MAC) coach to take over at a David (B1G) program is often a bad choice. He's not going to have a personnel, skill, or QB advantage like he enjoyed every week at Toledo.
Live in Toledo and before this year, locals weren’t super-thrilled with Candle. Especially when it comes to defense. I think Campbell’s a way better coach and he’s struggled. Don’t see Candle being the guy to build a winner in Indiana.

Yup. Chryst interviews there yesterday but they are staying in house.

Sean Lewis will be the next HC at SDSU
I saw that Chryst was supposed to interview. I would have loved to see fan reaction if he had gotten the job. They might have lynched the AD. The hiring of Chryst’s predecessor didn’t go very well.

Higher chance of success at San Diego State due to easier opponents and good recruiting areas

If he went to Indiana he gets to play Michigan OSU and Penn State every year and fight ND, Purdue etc for recruits

click bait to get thru the week until the Toledo game is over this Saturday

I kinda think that if Gruden would get back into the college game as a HC, he would really want a higher profile program,
But IU is B1G, and can afford a decent pay package should that conversation go anywhere.

Candle has to be the runaway #1 choice though
Exactly - A coach with a Super Bowl ring isn’t coaching college at IU.

Toledo is going to have a top 25 defense for the 2nd consecutive season. Thank the D.C. Vince Kehres hire for that.

As a coach you mold and grow. Toledo hadn't kept a QB healthy since 2017 until this season. It's unbelievable Toledo won the MAC with its injuries last season. UT went from near last to one of the best OLs in the country over the offseason.

I show them at #32 but your point still remains. Can’t argue with what he’s done this year. Could be undefeated. I just know some people close to the program (former players) and they had some questions particularly about the D.

By the way, best football game I’ve ever seen in person was the BG game last year. That was banana.

Maybe they should hire the guy that's your avatar. Though I hear he might be unsure as he's got a guy on the other phone line he needs to talk to about some whitewalls.
