I'm surprised their stadium doesn't have shiplap on the walls.
Ahem, sir... "Weathered undertones. Aged. Comfortable. Organized. To me, Shiplap always tells a story."

Those dramatic descriptions and impassioned stories that appeal to Joanna & the masses might not exist without some worldclass education from the UIUC college of media!

I'm getting the impression we may know the service for which they are your clients.

My wife, who is a massive Chip & Joanna fan (has all the cookbooks, has read every book, subscribes to their magazine, etc) wanted to shiplap our entire house when we bought it. I somehow managed to convince her to keep it to one room and above our fireplace mantel.

I'm sure you know this better than I do...but keep an eye on your girl inside Target, my friend :ROFLMAO: Those Joanna fans are drawn to that Hearth & Hand section like moths to a flame...next thing you know, this thing is living on your night stand

I came to this thread to catch up on carousel gossip. Instead I learned what shiplap is. 58 years I've been in the dark about it. Had no idea it existed. :( Then a host of home furnishing aesthetic items surfaced. That bedside, incense stick-holder that @Illiniguy13 noted frightens me. Ain't nobody got time for that.

As @The Galloping Ghost observed earlier, the value-add from Loyalty partisans is formidable and ever-varied (forgive me for reprising his most excellent GIF):

Ha. Kind of, except horizontal and painted white.
Ah. So they took the wood paneling from 50 years ago, rotated it 90 degrees, lightened it and, hey presto, had a fresh product to market.

To quote that gem of a film Spinal Tap: "There's such a fine line between clever and stupid."

Also, to steer us back to coaching gossip: Juwan Howard's appeal is simply becoming more selective.

It has occurred to me at various times that a program hiring a former star player who has been away from the college game for > two decades might not have been the best decision and certainly one that is awkward, if not difficult, to remedy when it goes badly.

Also, just as I didn't realize (until someone pointed it out last weekend) that Rutgers has the worst offense in the BT, I didn't grok until last evening that Michigan has the worst defense.

Very few NBA players have had success as college coaches.
Notable failures
- Patrick Ewing
- Clyde Drexler
- Dan Majerle
- Chris Mullins
- Mike Dunleavy
---- Add Juwon Howard. Note: I love owning Michigan. Please don't fire him.

I really don't want a good coach at DePaul. We lost a lot of good recruits to them when they were contenders.

- Mark Aguirre (when we would not take Skip Dillard as package deal)
- Lance Williamson (actually announced for Illinois)
- Quentin Richardson
- Bobby Simmons

not sure if Tommy Kleinschmidt would have considered Illini but he was great DePaul college player

Wow, really! Is that why Lou later decided to take package deals in the 80's? (he learned a lesson)

I welcome DePaul being competitive again. It will only be good for the entire state. You see how Loyola galvanized the Chicago area a few years back and Northwestern is doing alright in that regard too. Things are always better when multiple Illinois colleges are successful and making the tournament. We went several years without an Illinois school making the tournament last decade. We don't need anymore of that

Assuming Michigan in fact follows the cries of its fanbase and parts with Juwan this season (as much as that would pain me), who do we suppose would be the front runners for said gig?

Apologies if this has been asked recently.
