I'm not sure where the idea that Sean Miller would only take the Illini job as a stepping stone for another HC job comes from. IMO, Arizona is probably an Illini peer in the NCAA world, similar in status. Miller coached there for 12 years. And, as far as the "scandal" that happened while he was at Arizona, SF Austin had to forfeit a lot of games from when BU coached there. I am absolutely on board if BU stays as our head coach - but only if he is truly bought in to the Illini future, which is a question mark at this point.
I don't know who came up with that theory, but in my mind, Sean can take about any college HC opening if he wants it. He doesn't need a stepping stone.

haha ok dude. You surely follow my posts religiously. I'm a well known negative person.

I literally put the wins of our last 3 coaches in a spreadsheet and reviewed them. When you do that, you will see that outside of the Groce years and the tail end of Weber, what we're seeing now is what Illinois basketball has been. Weber didn't have a single 4 year span where he won less than 81 games. But if stating facts is negative, I guess you're right.
I am not sure I see the point of just looking at total wins. How about win loss record or winning percentage, B1G record, and making the Tournament? Context also matters.

John Groce won 23 games in 2013. Brad Underwood won 23 games in 2022. Are you seriously giving equal value to those seasons?

Holy cow!
I was watching the Cubs/Cardinals play in STL probably back in the ‘80s. Harry and Steve Stone were doing the broadcast on WGN. A couple of blue-haired old ladies hold up a sign that says “We Love You Harry!” Stone says “Look Harry. It’s a couple of your old girlfriends.” Harry responds “It seems like everyone in this town was.” Classic! I am a Cardinal fan from the womb but I sure miss watching and listening to those two on WGN.

So hypothetically if you were in the camp that wanted Miller to replace Underwood, I assume you’d want an Xavier loss tonight to expedite things? Asking for a friend, of course.

because I was responding to another post, that was quoted, calling out posters for basically overlooking how good we've got it in terms of wins. I wanted to see what the numbers said. Thus I looked them up, reviewed them, and posted. Didn't particularly feel like putting together a white paper for a message board post.

You can look up the numbers and respond to my post with a different perspective or look at the numbers a different way. It's kind of the point of message boards.

I believe Underwood is certainly better than Groce and Weber. I have never said any different.
