If it were you in your current job and you employed someone who's job is to look out for your best interest...that's literally his job, you wouldn't want them to put all information that he/she collects in front of you? If people take the approach where they won't ever accept phone calls or have a quick conversation, those calls will stop coming. You don't want that, ESPECIALLY in an industry as volatile as competitive sports with salaries being what they are. You lose all leverage, even though you don't plan to exercise that leverage....at that point. If BU were 65/70 years old and planned to call it quits in a couple of years...agreed, don't take the call.
Look at some of our fan base, heck, look at some of this board have turned on him because he hasn't gotten to the second weekend of the tournament. So, again even on this board, think that he should be on the hot seat after EVERYTHING that he's done for this program. You don't think that he hears this stuff? He'd be doing himself a complete disservice if he didn't evaluate his situation year in and year out. In an era of NIL and portal activity, it's a year by year crapshoot. He won 20 games trying to recover from a roster that lost 85% of everything and it wasn't good enough for some. If he's expecting another 80% turnover, much like Shrewsbury and Collins....have to look. College athletics has turned ugly and in an era of instant gratification amongst the fans or a revolt, if it's me... everything is on the table.
