I agree that it's brutal they're specifically saying that trying to transfer with waiver a second time due to a coaching change will be denied. You've got players in situations like St. John's where Pitino rolls in and just publicly says most of these guys have to go... I've been wondering what Curbelo is going to do. I think he would drive Pitino crazy.
Yeah it will be interesting to see how they handle that. It does seem like a big loophole, but they also point out that lack of playing time or a reduced role will not be accepted, so I wonder what kind of proof they will be looking for that the mental or physical well-being is being damaged at the current school.
In the case of the St. John's players, they could probably say, "Hey, our new coach said in a public press conference he doesn't want us," and that might be enough lol.
