I have a question for @LvilleILL. You have been the most consistently confident that Texas would be hiring Terry full time and that Brad will be the Illini coach next season, despite other insiders bringing up the increasing possibility of Brad moving on.

Was your confidence that Brad would be back based more on that you did not see a path for the dominos to fall in a way that would end with Brad leaving for another job? Or did you feel like the growing frustration between Brad, the boosters and Josh was being overblown? Or both?

Just curious because I think it was a unique experience for us on the board to see insiders feeling so differently about the direction the rumor winds were blowing.
Did not see the path at all tbh. Brad could have left if things fell a certain way, but the odds were very low. Also there is some frustration with Josh, but they still are going to be able to work well with each other and have a good relationship

Once caught REO at the Urbana Civic Center. Terry Luttrell was the lead singer.
Now that angst over coaching dominos has hopefully eased, we can hyper-focus on the musical chair game over at the portal party…

and since it is apparently relevant, Terry Luttrell once sold me a car…

and these were the local bands that we drank a lot of beer and jammed to in my day:

After having to wade thru hundreds of posts of BU being done.... lol, I have 1 comment. Hope BU chews @$$ and screams at people even more when they screw up next year.

It sure feels weird to have all this rift and moving parts just to show united front and go forward again.

I trust everyone involved to be professional, but I am curious how things will play out.

Whitman isn't deluded like a lot of the fans. Illinois has a good history but we aren't at the level of blue blood where we fire our coach for not having enough tournament success.
I don’t think that’s what’s going on here. At Whitmans level, it was never about tournament success. The supposed issues were more with NIL and donors.

Is it done or just a pause before the reload of the gun chamber with Self not being able to coach because of his health issues?

If true, who follows him at KU ???...?
Does this start up the carousel again?

Buckle up Buckaroo Banzai and the faithful local squad leaders. , John Smith -Booty and the evil ones are returning soon.....radio silence right now , but an Ellen Barkin sighting has been reported in Kansas a little while ago...

You say that like upheaval is preferred, which I totally disagree with. If Brad Underwood remains here? Fantastic! If the rumors that might lead to Sean Miller being coach instead of Underwood? Fantastic, he’s great.

What would be an unambiguous disaster is if Underwood leaves us and we end up with a lesser replacement. I have every faith in Whitman, but this is at least a remote possibility if we need a new coach. I do not want any haters talking about us “losing a coach,” especially to the likes of KSU or Arkansas. That simply should not happen.
Agree 100%

Yeah, not so sure it's all over. (If not this year, then maybe in one of the next 2-3.)

Everyone with inside information seems to be confirming that a rift now exists in the once-cozy Coach-AD relationship. And of course, we all anticipate there will be many more players to coach and many more NCAA tournaments to in which to play.

I have to apologize for contributing to part of that. I got caught up in the flow of the offense and reacted instinctively. Also, I am not sure if REO was at the Civic Center or the Union. Or both.
REO SpeedWagon played everywhere in the 70's and later.......I must have caught them 25-30 times in my search for the lost chord shenanigans...........................Rathrock played a mean lead guitar...................he really really did..................
