How tight are Brad and Bob these days?
(To the ex-assistants go the spoils?…lol. maybe?)

I’m sure he wants to help keep the WV cupboard stocked. BUT…if a certain quality guard was portal bound anyway…why not put in a good word for Brad? I can dream, right?

Edit: Also, can I just say? What an idiot.
Call a friend, a taxi, or an uber…it’s not that hard dude. It’s not like you promised to not let this sort of thing happen ever again.

“…there were empty beer cans in a trash bag on the passenger side of the vehicle and in its trunk.”

Looks like the beer was Bud Light after all.

Indy/440, Is this a good enough gig for Underwood's out?
I wonder if it is too late for them to get a new coach. How many guys will say sorry I don't want to walk into a situation where I have no team? All of their incoming players are transfers, meaning they have 0 loyalty to the school. So presumably most will opt to look elsewhere. Then the pool of transfers is pretty much empty now with most already picking a school, same with the class of 2023. I'd guess the type of coaches you really want would be especially concerned about stepping into a bad spot like that.

Their top assistant has around 20 years head coaching experience. That seems the most likely place they turn and then try to get someone big next season.

What’s the rule on that? Are those transfers available to re-transfer right away before school starts, or are they officially with West Virginia and will require a waiver?

If you don't think it's a fair question, sorry...
The guys who know things are the guys saying the seat is hot (and have been since the season ended). Too many people focus on the tourney results and looking at other gigs when there is friction between a man and his boss. At the end of the year it was a question of which jobs would open, (Texas, Kentucky, KState?) and none did. No one had WVU on the bingo card at that point. I guarantee the insiders are on the horn and have already heard things. They'll be able to confirm or quash soon. I think our coach might ask if it could be him.
It's a gig where the coaching style could go over well with fans who are accustomed to Huggy. It's Power five. The situation leaves WVU desperate and perhaps willing to overpay.
Remember me when the smoke starts. Ignore me if it doesn't.

Almost like Bob wanted to put the new NCAA rules that a coach leaving isn't going to be considered for a transfer waiver to immediately play to the test...

More seriously though I have no sympathy for someone who gets behind the wheel drunk. You want to risk killing yourself doing something, fine, but once you start risking the lives of other people you should have the book thrown at you as driving clearly is a privilege you aren't capable of handling.

Goodman had posted earlier today that a possible replacement after this season could be Youngstown State head coach Jerrod Calhoun who was an assistant at WVU from 2007-2012. Friend of mine who's a WVU fan thinks it would be smart to pursue Radford head coach Darris Nichols, who played at WVU from 2004-2008.

I am guessing it depends on whether or not they have enrolled in summer classes a WVU. ???

As a local, I know Nichols recently had similar problems as Huggins just experienced.

Bob Huggins is gone…

My lasting impression of him was in his prime at Cincinnati during one of those Great 8 early season tournaments at the United Center in the late 90's. Loaded field, and I somehow ended up sitting a few seats behind Cincinnati's bench. Cinci ended up losing, and I was more fascinated watching the bench then the game.

Among other things, remember him going off on a kid on the bench who hadn't been in the game because of mistakes made on the floor, and going back and forth with a heckler in the crowd after the loss. Borderline crazy level of focus and intensity, but not under control at all times...
