It's been a long time coming. Hate the state of sports in general. It leaks further down than anyone wants to admit. And it's been coming long before NIL. It's about money. Period! Money is not happiness. However old you are think about when you were very young and enjoying sports at any level. It's changed so much over time and not in a good way. Money has been the common denominator to the problem! Until the world realizes this with every facet of life it'll be lead to disappointment, letdown, and unhappiness. I'm a longtime sports fan, U of I alum, and have had so many great experiences in life/sports that I'm so fortunate to have had, but we as humans don't have it figured out.
On a more positive note, I saw where the Gator Bait cheer was allowed back at Florida. I hope that means Chief could come back at some point. May be a dream, but I'll keep pushing for it. If we give up we give in. What an honor to the Illiniwek for many years! At least it's a start!
