The NIL Arms Race continues

Plus:
1. A mere few years ago if not less, this was one of the cheapskate schools...
2. In the video itself, they mention that Arizona St mentions that they are keeping up with the Joneses with the Texas schools including Tech. Despite the P2 smugness that has been on this board in the past, the nuclear club has quite a few "non-P2" members.

Kiffin is such a hard guy to appreciate at any level - personal or professional.

Ole Miss fandom has every right to be super upset with him - then again, it’s no surprise and they knew he was that way when they hired him from FAU. Always looking for the BBD . always looking for excuses

agree - 100% weak sauce.

Also, "our bottom is harder than theirs." C'mon, this is a family friendly website.
20+ years of saying their top is better, now that they (relatively) stink, it's that their bottom is better. Pathetic bunch of losers.

Time to-repost my all-time favorite from the Super:

If a certain Mr Anderson does end up transferring to Illinois within the next couple of seasons, there is either a major us problem or a major him problem…

The SEC remains undefeated in the hypothetical world of hypothetical football. Never lost a game out of league to anyone ever.

And all this talk about matchups and such. Heck when bowl season comes around the sec team is the defacto home team 80% of the time outside the playoff games. Just us have played LSU in New Orleans, Miss St in Florida, SC in Florida and Tenn in Nashville.

Also take a look at who the sec typically plays on the next to last week of the season. Bama plays citadel. It’s an annual throw away weekend for most of that league.

It’s real simple. Once nil made it legal to pay players the sec advantage from paying under the table went away.

Just looking from a very high level on these financials shared and assuming I'm understanding this correctly, B1G revenue is $360 M greater than SEC's, but the per team distributions is only $6 M higher per team? For clean numbers assume we split 360/18 - that's $20M. I know there are costs that have to come out of all of this but is the SEC running that much more efficiently/lean than B1G?

Looking further, a good amount is due to B1G having 2 more schools, but still...

B1G 18 teams = total distributions of $1.368 B (team distribution x18)
SEC 16 teams = total distributions of $1.125 B (team distribution x16)

Or maybe the SEC is robbing from Peter to pay 'Bama - er Paul?

I'd be interested in anyone who actually understands this more explaining what's going on here.

Wait, does "separate the schools" mean having the universities and their athletic departments be legally and financially separate entities or something else?

pretty sure he's referring to the BIG and SEC operating under a new set of rules (i.e. the ACC and B12 can't keep up)

What would that even mean practically speaking? The B1G and SEC in a super league that only plays one another?

The way this process gets fans to embrace dystopia is horrific, and make no mistake, the mechanics under which this is unsustainable for Kansas will swallow Illinois too, and Ohio State and Texas too in their due time.

"Unsustainable" is an overused word, but this is the dictionary definition.
