There is, quite literally, no chance I would ever trust someone with the handle @Genetics56 for accurate information. If it's not a verified journalist using an actual name, it means less than nothing. Do a simple search of "Florida State" on twitter and there's absolutely nothing about this. If there was any real smoke, it would be blowing up.

No clue how tightly bound NC and NC State are. That said, it's very hard to believe that NC is opting for the SEC.

how could adding all three of those NC research triangle schools EVER make any sense financially to the SEC ?
the value of everyones slice of pie just decreased by 20%- 25% if true

If true and the ACC starts to disintegrate, I would like, to add Louisville and ND to try and keep a semblance of a midwest vibe. And of course, ND is ND.

But if AAU is a driving force, then only the following ACC schools are in the AAU: Duke, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, UNC, and Virginia.

If USC and UCLA join that will put the B1G at 16. At some point the revenue starts to get diluted.

The B1G may cherry pick a few ACC schools if that dam bursts, but I don't think they'll take a whole gob and go up to 22-24 schools in the conference.

A big hell, no to Louisville.

Pitt: good school, no chance

up until now, even with USC and UCLA, they have avoided revenue dilution.

there are inevitably 1-3 other ACC schools (not counting ND) that have move the needle positively , money wise. not sure exactly how that shakes out.
UNC, Clemson and FSU likely would , but not sure there is appetite in the B1G for anyone but UNC and UVa, and UVa is a net money loser.

If there is truth to these rumors, I'd be a bit disappointed to miss out on UNC and Georgia Tech. I know many factors are at play, but I feel they both feel more B1G than Virginia Tech. To Tibbs' point, I feel like it would make sense for both the B1G and SEC to split up the Virginia and North Carolina schools so each conference has a share of the market.

These are the most desirable to me besides ND

I can't imagine any ACC schools other than Clemson/FSU/UNC/Miami moving the needle on revenue. But the whole FSU thing just sounds farfetched to me.

I've been following that guy for a while too, hard to tell if he actually gets good info or not.

That said, FSU and Miami to the B1G would be pretty awesome.
Penn State
Rutgers
Maryland
UCLA
USC

All of those additions were shocking adds that had absolutely zero leaks before they were announced. The B1G is so stealthy that any “rumblings” of other teams joining the league should be taken with the hugest grain of salt possible.

I don’t think revenue dilution would be an inhibiting factor at this point. I think it’s clear the B1G and SEC will continue to add teams, so they’re competing with each other for first dibs.

Also, neither conference has expanded into the streamer market. Adding 4 more teams for example adds roughly 16 more games to be sold to Amazon, Apple, etc most likely as a Thursday or Friday game.

I can only speculate but I don’t think the “B10 media partners” are required to have the money or interest. Its whether Amazon/Apple has interest for a Friday game, or possibly PST time slot.

Amazon/Apple definitely trying to enter the landscape. It may reach the point that a 5th tier B1G game on Friday is worth more than a PAC or B12 deal given the B1G‘s more national footprint, etc.
