I’ll take the Cubs over the Brewers.

The Cubs score half a run more a game than the Brewers and actually have much better starting pitching. The only thing the Brewers have over the Cubs is a superb bullpen. Also, the Cubs have more ability to take on money if they’re buying at the deadline.

The Reds are the random variable. They have so much young talent. They’re riding high right now, but the League will adjust and some of those kids could hit a wall.

Some people try to lump the 2 Central Divisions together.
The NL Central has no elite teams but everyone is hanging around .500.
The AL Central just plain sucks.

Cardinals scratching Flaherty and going with Liberatore tomorrow. With Stro going, the Cubs will have a pretty huge starting pitching advantage. Gotta take advantage and get the mini-sweep.

How badly will jetlag impact the Cubs? One day off for travel is not enough. We’ve finally started moving in the right direction, and now screwed up sleep patterns will likely throw a monkey wrench into the way we are playing. Other than the win, the only good thing is the fact the Cardinals are losing the home series, not the Cubs.

It’s about time for a “phantom” IL stint. You can’t keep putting him out there. With as well as the rest of the pitching staff is going, he doesn’t have to be great, but he has to at least keep them in the game for 5 innings.

Cubs and Cards are a combined 1-5 since London. A London letdown?

Of course, after 2019, the Yankees won 10 of 15 and the Red Sox won 6 of 7 and 15 of 22.

So maybe, it’s just that they were good teams and the Cubs and Cards are bad teams.

If they are going to continue to start Taillon and his 7.07 ERA just concede the game and rest the starters. Let Mancini play first.
