foot injuries do take awhile to fully heal

it does seem like we won’t see him in a game for this calendar year

I'd guess he broke his foot if he needed surgery. Prob 12 weeks (3 months) before he does anything. That's Nov 1. AI tells me 4-6 months to resume full running activities. 2027 sounds realistic.
Luke Goode broke his foot and was back the same season if I recall correctly

So frustrating. Our bad luck is just never ending. Not sure why you don’t hear this sort of thing happening on other major MBB programs.

Don't like insiders haven't tried talking us off the ledge yet. I know it's summer but this is a full blown crisis.
It's not that deep man. He's not out for the season and this happened during the offseason.

Before everyone starts the conspiracy theories, literally every team deals with practice injuries. Broken bones and torn ligements happen. There's often nothing you can do to actually prevent it. I think it's a testament to Fletch and the rest of the staff that our guys seemingly never have to deal with soft tissue injuries.

No, a full blown crisis is him not returning.

This is likely to cost us a couple seed lines, but we'll see.

The other universe has Morillo putting up 23 and 15 in our win against UConn and everyone debating whether Mirk gets his job back in January.

In seriousness, how does this get released without some sort of additional details. Now we have speculation ranging from a hangnail to amputation. Gotta do a better job of controlling the narrative.

The ONLY answer to these issues is to bring back the Chief and reverse this damn curse!

Does Underwood understand how much money our donors spent to have our star player sitting out (at least) the first half of the schedule? If I was a big NIL donor, I'd be pissed. What's Underwood's pitch next year to donors? Give us a few million this kid and maybe he'll play in half of the games if he can survive one of my grueling practices? And why is it always our best player that gets injured in practice?

will be interesting to see if our efforts to bring in someone else ramp back up. kohler?

Obviously not the same import, but Eric Reibe, who transferred from UConn to USC, also just sustained a foot injury with no scheduled return.

3 plus months seems like a good amount of time to recover to me.

But you know, missed practice time and all.

with foot injuries, Drs tend to make them wait longer for fear of a re-injury .

I doubt we see him in a game this calendar year.

Seems like something like this happens on a yearly basis. It’s par for the course for this program. So disheartening.

Time for next man up.

Talked to a couple people, sorry for the delay.

Obviously not great news, surgery is never good.

The feeling as of now is that he has a pretty decent chance to be back by late October depending on how it reacts. I think worse case is mid to late November.

Don’t think he will miss many games if any, but not great to not have him for practice.

In terms of the freshman getting more responsibility I think it could bode well.

It worked out well for Lou Gehrig & the Yankees
