It's kind of hard to tell because we don't know the severity of the injury. Our first game is not until 3 months from now.

Don't think we see him in 2026 portion of this season
Obviously this will vary by matchup, but this is my dart throw at the minutes for the first part of the year without Mirk.

Vaaks 31
Stojakovic 31
Coleman 28
Jake 26
Tomi 24
Zvonimir 22
Morillo 18
Lincoln 12
Zens 5
Everyone else 3

I think they play smaller and more guard/wing heavy, with Jake or Andrej spending time at the 4.

More of the offense probably runs through Vaaks and Tomi. Tomi can handle some of the screening, passing and handoff stuff they lose with Mirk.

The twins will play together at times, but I doubt it becomes the base lineup. If both are on the floor for long stretches, there’s little depth left to spell either of them at the 5.

So frustrating. Our bad luck is just never ending. Not sure why you don’t hear this sort of thing happening on other major MBB programs.

Before everyone starts the conspiracy theories, literally every team deals with practice injuries. Broken bones and torn ligements happen. There's often nothing you can do to actually prevent it. I think it's a testament to Fletch and the rest of the staff that our guys seemingly never have to deal with soft tissue injuries.

Don't like insiders haven't tried talking us off the ledge yet. I know it's summer but this is a full blown crisis.
No, a full blown crisis is him not returning.

This is likely to cost us a couple seed lines, but we'll see.

The other universe has Morillo putting up 23 and 15 in our win against UConn and everyone debating whether Mirk gets his job back in January.

will be interesting to see if our efforts to bring in someone else ramp back up. kohler?

Obviously not the same import, but Eric Reibe, who transferred from UConn to USC, also just sustained a foot injury with no scheduled return.

3 plus months seems like a good amount of time to recover to me.

But you know, missed practice time and all.

Seems like something like this happens on a yearly basis. It’s par for the course for this program. So disheartening.

Time for next man up.

Talked to a couple people, sorry for the delay.

Obviously not great news, surgery is never good.

The feeling as of now is that he has a pretty decent chance to be back by late October depending on how it reacts. I think worse case is mid to late November.

Don’t think he will miss many games if any, but not great to not have him for practice.

In terms of the freshman getting more responsibility I think it could bode well.
