Name does NOT check out.

To be fair, you may be referring to Montana Grizz fans not being all that upset at his "retirement?"

Thank for this post. I will stick with my view that it’s somewhat of a low class move to fire our DC after 4 games. Let him coach out the season and fire him afterwards. Makes me wonder if our wealthy donors were pushing for his firing.
Definitely lost respect for Whitman.

He wasn't fired, he quit because he didn't like how things were going.

He could probably see a firing coming by the end of the season, so he quit to avoid a more disgraceful ending.

So a lot of talk about the limited NIL budget... Are we strapped for cash with hiring coaches as well?
But hey, look at that cool video board!!

I just love that the year after the worst P5 program in history and mortal enemy wins the NC, our battle cry is “11 guys and tackle!”
Sigh.

IU is our mortal enemy?

Buddy, Hauck initiated the conversation. Told Bret then Bret had to call Whitman to let him know the situation.

It is more crazy to think that someone is trying to think less of Whitman because of this ordeal. It was clear as day that the defense had major problems, and if Hauck lost the passion to coach, I am glad he stepped forward and removed himself now. Sometimes a mutual parting at this stage of the season is for the best.

It is fair to have issue with hire in the first place, or to be stuck in the position that we were in to fill that role late in the game; but to be mad and lose respect for Whitman because of this ordeal...complete lunacy.

It was too many chefs. We hired an executive chef who knew how to run a restaurant, manage staff, develop dishes, etc, but hadn't run a kitchen during dinner rush in forever, who was obviously gumming up the process, and probably had his own ideas on the restaurant running part. The good news is we have a couple sous chefs on staff who do know how to run a kitchen during rush. But are they any good at the exec part? managing staff and developing dishes? and taking over after their boss walked out in a huff?

He could pay for players too so I’m not sure what you’re trying to say
I’m trying to say why is he spending money on vanity projects instead of things that will actually help the team win football games.
