Goode could've been in the same role as Humrichous potentially. Maybe he wouldn't be starting but Humrichous arguably shouldn't be starting either
Goode would've redshirted unless he was okay with 5 MPG. I like him but he's not that good and it spoke to Indiana's weakness that he was one of their top transfers. Humrichous far outclasses him in pretty much every metric. Goode's supposed to be a shooter... who averaged 5.7 pts per game and brought along some terrible defense but would fight hard for rebounds when he was routinely beat. (Pretty much bringing the same energy as the terrible offense, generally good defense of Ty Rodgers.) The math wasn't mathing for him to have a place on the team this year, just as it didn't for Rodgers.

Not sure what you mean by “one of their top transfers.” I think universally most would agree he was 4th best transfer. Interestingly, most would probably say same about Ben for us. Luke is also getting fewer minutes this year than last. He certainly never quite lived up to his shooting reputation with Illini, but I’d say his struggles this year could be more team/offense related.

The math wasn't mathing for Rodgers but it mathed for Tre White? Totally disagree there.
Also, Humrichous provides nothing outside of 3 pt shooting. He is not anything resembling Marcus Domask. Yesterday's stat line for him: 9 pts, 2 rebs, 1 assist, 1 steal. For a 6'9" player playing 29 mins yesterday, those are some empty and non-productive stats. Love his 3 pt shooting ability but Luke Goode could do that as well and Luke Goode was a better rebounder. So, respectfully, right now, Goode could be doing the same exact thing for us and be a more productive rebounder.

A 6'9" player with 2 rebounds? You've got to be kidding me. The guards got more rebounds than him. He's averaging 3.3 rebounds per game. That's utterly ridiculous for a player of his size. I still am a little weary of Humrichous and Tre White at the moment if you can't tell. I've turned around a bit on Humrichous only b/c he is turning out to be a 3 pt sniper but these two transfers leave a lot to be desired in other areas

To jump into the player continuity discussion, with the exception of AirPodz, who do we wish would have stayed? Everyone else hasn’t hit the heights they hit at Illinois at their next destination.

Of course too early to tell with the last cohort to leave but love Luke. Ben is an upgrade. I love Dain. Was no longer a fit for how we wanted to play. And I love Coleman but we couldn’t wait for him to make his draft decision and ultimately I don’t think we were willing to pay what the market was for him. Werner gave a hot take a couple of weeks ago that Tomi is an upgrade over Coleman which is looking less and less hot by the week. Nico really knows how to play but probably doesn’t have the size or athleticism to be an impact player at the P5 level.

Not that I ever want anyone to leave but no one is irreplaceable, especially in the portal era. And there are different ways to build winners. I appreciate a Painter “this is my system and I’m going to recruit to it and run it come hell or high water” type. But I also appreciate Underwood adapting to what his roster does best.

Slight edit. I don’t care how he fits on our current roster, I wish Hansberry had stayed. That dude is an absolute dog

While I agree with the overall sentiment, Amani is who we thought he was. He’s a really good high major player and a dog on the glass. Dude is playing a lot of minutes, and playing winning ball. 13 & 10 against Arizona today.
They also aren’t really playing the same role. Amani would be playing more like Ivisic in our offense.

From what insiders have suggested AC was quite the wild man on campus before the concussion. Some people just can't stop themselves from being dipsticks.

I am trying to recall a similar situation in sports when an individual with similar demonstrable talents has sh*t in his own bed

That's too bad. He does have a lot of potential but it seems like he has not matured any more than his time in Champaign. Hopefully, he figures it out one of these days and gets his head back on straight. He could have a career internationally if he wants

Early views tell me Hansberry would be starting at the 4 and definitely much better than Booth. Of course that is ignoring the back problem he had last year.

As I agree that he seems to be playing well, I don’t think he starts at the 4 for us. We seem pretty committed to the 3 ball. I think him and Sincere made the right moves for themselves in this situation.

Johnny Manziel comes to mind.
Sort of, but Johnny Football was able to get through college without too many hiccups, right? And I really mean without any public knowledge of hiccups.

Maybe it was just because he was so otherworldly…I bet of Belo had become a really awesome shooter to go along with his passing and creativity, he’d maybe get more passes like Johnny probably did.

Check out his “controversies” here. They existed before, during and after A&M.
