I like Nico, but I swear, if he's a lottery pick in the spring I'm going to lose my mind.
Sorry, but I can’t let go of Belo

Dain had 11 & 9 1 block and 3 TO in the road win over UNLV tonight

Brad made a good decision with letting all those guys walk and bring the new ones in. Brad seems to be winning this trade across the board. But I bet those who left feel better as well because they are getting the minutes they want ( except Luke)

Maybe everyone is happy, I know we are!

I’d take those numbers from DD off the bench…. IIRC, not where he wanted to be though, hence the transfer lol.

It would have been nice to have a reliable low post scoring option like Dain for those nights on the road when the threes aren’t going in at a 35%+ clip. I’m not sure — yet — how consistent Tomi will be from there, and Rez seems pretty raw offensively.

I am not surprised Epps, Miller, Dainja, Hansberry and Curbelo are doing well at other schools. All were highly ranked HS players and did not leave over playing time issues. Well maybe Dainja. Very happy to see Curbelo healthy - he plays with such joy.

We would have been happy to have any of them stay but the portal is brutal. Brad is recruiting at much higher level so either you improve or you will be stuck on bench. Portal makes upgrades instantaneous - Tre White SF , Ben Humrichous PF, Kylan Boswell 2G, Tomas C. Incoming freshman are top 30 level Morez, KJ Riley. We are getting close to top 10 level where even top 60 recruits can't crack starting lineup.

Goode is same player as he was at C-U. Hit the open 3's and hustle for rebounds. Still lacking athleticism. At least he is at his dream school. My IU friend hate his orange sneakers.

Coleman is same player at KSU he was at Illinois. Great complementary player. Not worth $2M NIL - he played portal very well.

It's wild that Coleman got that, but more power to him.

He reminds me a bit of Steven Ashworth at Creighton. He's skilled and can really shoot.

I think transferring down to get regular playing time was a good move for him and I wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer back up to the power conference level for his junior or senior year.

Dain off the bench would be good. Not as a starter.
I think the team went to another level when dain started playing more in big ten tourney and NCAA. I honestly thought it was small error not playing him more through out the year especially when we basically were never gonna be a plus defensive team. The guy can just score... Just don't dribble so much!

I was really hoping they’d include the clip of Dain’s “fast break” from the tournament as a little humor sequence in the celebration video on Friday, but they didn’t.

It’s crazy how little I (we?) have thought about Jeremiah Fears over the last few months. In years past we would be down about it for a long time. He’s a great player and yet we seem to be just fine.
He is playing really well so far.

Would be interesting to add lost commitments to the former Illini thread.

Fears, Zz Clark, Butler, and Storr come to mind.

6 TOs against NW State…
