Someone threw out this idea in another thread. I'm sure that they're dead to some, but I like to keep an eye on former Illini.
Off the top of my head:
BBV at South Carolina
Grandison at Duke
Podz at Santa Clara
Curbelo at St. John's
Payne at Jacksonville
Hamlin at EIU
I think Jalen Coleman-Lands was finally forced out of college hoops
Anyone else I'm missing?

For me JCL had ceased to be a former Illini. I think it was right around his 4th or 5th school.

JCL is such a weird case. He was ranked pretty high and had a pretty promising freshman year. Then his career just fell apart and was pretty crazy.

I'll miss watching Curbelo as well. I have a feeling he is going to look 10x better to the casual Illini fan this year because all we'll see are the highlights, not the mistakes.
I will miss the excitement and flare that Curbelo brought to the Illini, what I won't miss is the drama and globetrotter turnovers that came with his flare.

I still think we are net-positive with how it played out for our Illini.

Agreed! I enjoyed having Curbelo as an Illini and I'm bummed we won't get to continue to watch his development. Certainly didn't mean my original comment to come across as a "glad he's gone", or anything close. For his sake, I also hope the change of scenery is a great opportunity to reset, refresh, and end up a better player.

I watched the extended highlights of St. John's exhibition game. Belo looked a lot more patient, picking his opportunities, and happy to set up others versus constantly trying to attack and looking for his own shot. Finished with 10 pts, 5 a, 0 tos. Was surprised to see him coming off the bench.

Wishing all these guys the best. Will be watching them throughout the year out of support and curiosity. We could put together a pretty formidable team of former Illini.

BBV
Grandy
Tevian
Miller
Belo

That team could win some games.

It will be easier to watch him make mistakes when it doesn't impact our team.

Go nuts Belo, I want to see all the crazy now.

Watching curbelo on another team will sting for sure. Wish him the best. I could see him having a national moment at some point in his remaining years. The talent is there.

Sadly, Belo seems to be on a similar path as El Mago for da Cubs..... Flaming brightly, making some plays most of us have never seen before. Then, striking out/making plays that cancel out the good. No bueno for the big picture. Wish the kid nothing but good fortune!!

I won't miss him until he develops an outside shot or at least mid range as good as Ayo.
