Really bad final 1:30 from us. Fail to box out on a free throw and then a 7-0 run.
Coleman needs to stop claiming tonight and focus on basketball. Turning into one of those games for him so far.

I have a bad feeling about the 2nd half. Seems to me whenever Illinois misses a gimme or turns over the ball, NU then capitalizes. No way with a five-point lead should they be down by 2.
Am confident, but TSJ a shadow of himself so far tonight. I wish we would avoid switching Luke or MD on Booey. They have no chance of staying in front of him. QG and CH been fairly quiet. Need them to get going. And someone please ride these officials until they start calling an illegal screen for crying out loud.
My one complaint BU this year is the apparent desire to take time outs back to the locker room or back home with him. Could have managed the end of that half a lot better.

Crap finish to the half but we’re dominating on the glass and mostly getting good shots.
I’m not worried about this. Even if we lose, there are how many games left in the season? We’ll be ok. Just going through a bit of adversity right now.
I am going there: refs seem more adamant when UI fouls NU.

Side note: Dain has all but played himself out of any minutes. Granted, Coleman's play doesn't warrant Dain playing much, but Dain can't be trusted defensively and he literally is not capable of making the easy play on offense. He overcomplicates every move. Get the ball and GO UP!
He has really struggled from 3 so far
I don’t think our defense was that bad. It’s easy to say “play defense” when a team shoots 50%+ on you, but look at what BU’s defense is designed to do: force tough 2 pointers and allow guys like Buie to shoot contested floaters over our drop coverage. The switching 1-5 gave us some bad matchups on Buie, and there were a few instances where we need to get over those screens better, but we did exactly what our defense game-planned to do: NU is 1/4 from three.
TSJ seems to be taking more threes than driving the ball and passing if doubled. 0 -4 last game and 0-3 already. One thing he had done better this year was drive and hit open guys when doubled or tripled. I hope he does that and also hits a few 3s.
Can't get upset at the effort. They have to make shots and finish. That's just matter of fact. Coach doesn't need to bang that drum. Now, he should probably get of the ref for some of those screens. Those are tight calls.
