This is just poor effort and execution. This is what happens when you play aloof. We are not locked in at all. We are playing rattled and we are not focused on anything to be honest. We have consistently lost our man defensively, leading to easy wide open shots. We aren't even close to aware on offense, simply turning the ball over on silly actions. Purdue is just playing great defense with intensity and focus. Offensively it's like shoot around for them. These guys are so open they have time to look around as if saying, "do you want to come contest this wide open shot or nawwww?" This play is not everyday guy culture. Not Illinois culture. We have to play with a chip on our shoulders and with pride! I'm looking for that in the second half. It's time for the coaching to kick in. Maybe we need to be flat out embarrassed severely to wake up and compete. No way we should keep digging holes like this in the first halves of games with the two seniors we have on this team. TSJ needs to step up and lead, and so does Mayer. The rest of the team needs to play as hard as they can on both ends of the floor and give maximum effort. This game may be over already if this continues. But I certainly hope these guys fight and play like they are capable of. It may be too much to conquer against a team of this caliber, but we have to focus on getting right for the tournaments now! This half in my opinion will show what this teams character is. Will they fight or fold? I believe they'll fight! Attack, attack, attack, the rim!
