Game Thread: Illinois at Rutgers

We are 6 of 25 excluding Kofi and 1 for 14 from 3's. Poor shooting since the Purdue game at home. At some point, you have to question our outside shooting, but we have won even with this funk. Also, out rebounded 28 to 14 ... worst game of the year in that area.

Not on track to get to 68. Need to catch fire in 2d half.

We're a good team and Rutgers is playing well. But this has been one of the worst halves of basketball that we've played all year. Lucky not to be down by 30. Not sure why we look so slow and tentative. Looks like we forgot to pack our effort, rebounding, and defense. Hope Brad has something to say to the fellas at half.

That "foul" on Kofi on the missed Dunk is just abysmal. LITERALLY zero contact by Kofi, Omoruyi jumped straight into Kofi...

Man, a lot of you act like Kofi has a clear path to a wide open dunk every trip down the floor… there are 5 defenders on the floor playing a collective scheme, and right now, that is “take away the entry pass to Kofi” and that basically says “let them beat us from 3.” And guess what… we haven’t made shots. If we shoot a normal % from 3, we’re winning this game. Compared to the lazy, half-hearted second half against Northwestern, I’ll take a half of basketball where we just didn’t hit shots and are still only down single digits. Law of averages.
