Rutgers is 12-2 at home including wins over Purdue, MSU, OSU, and Michigan. If we had shot 28% from three we would be tied. We’re not some dysfunctional team, we just can’t overcome cold shooting playing at tough BIG teams. Newsflash: no one does

Ok, I think the problem was that I wasn't drinking. The beer is poured now. We hit our opening shot, and it's all downhill for Rutgers from there.
Thanks for taking one for the team

Honest question - why do guys like DMW and CoHawk drive to the hoop and almost always look to pass it instead of going up strong and possible scoring / drawing fouls? It seems like they get scared way too often. I just don't get it.

We really need someone other than Kofi who can reliably create some non-perimeter scoring. Our offense is either Kofi or 3s, nothing else. Since Kofi's probably not going to score 50 a game, we're susceptible to losing any given game if the 3s don't fall.
I agree. Have thought that most all season. Driving the ball to create a shot or get fouled is not our strenghth and it is to our detriment. it's about what type players you recruit.

We have passed up way too many good looks and came up with zero. Just some terrible decisions with the ball on O

RU is playing us very close on D and we are giving them so many open looks on O................

I agree we need to go back to Kofi as he kept us in the game early in 1st half , and Trent and Fonz need to continue attacking the rim ......

I have no idea what has happened to DMW and Jake ......Jake only had 2 points against N-western and I believe only 2 tonight.....we need him to hit his average and start rebounding better......

Deon just said we need to beat the bully on the floor and RU is trying to bully us ......hope we punch back hard in the first 5-6 minutes of the second half....

cmon guys , we can win this ..........................
pretty good summation. I think DMW and Grandy need to concentrate on D and rebounding. Attack the Fimg rim.

Shooting percentage - edge back to the mean?

Grandy passes up two open looks to pass to a covered Plummer

Because they missed shots…?

-won the turnover battle
-played solid defense
-only “effort” category to complain about is the Rutgers offensive rebounding, but that’s basically been on Plummer…
yes, they missed shots. thats obviously not ideal. but also, gotta look at the quality of those offensive possessions. we were settling EVERY possession. Our only made 3 was off of the ball touching every player's hands, and working it's way around the floor. H*ll, even the ball was moved around when DMW banked in the three to close the half. Also, there should be absolutely zero reason we lose a rebounding battle, especially not losing 28-13. We also didn't play THAT good of defense, Rutgers scored 33 points in the first half, which is more than they have only scored more than 33 points in the first half in BIG 10 play 4 other times.

That was rough. 1-14 from 3. Shot 2 FTs. When your shots aren’t falling you need to DRIVE TO SCORE. 95% of our drivers are driving to pass out for a bricked 3. Drive draw contact, get to line & please reverse the ball and make RU guard. If the same team shows up for the second half, they can’t score enough to beat Rutgers or any B10 team. If they are going lose this one I hope they do so playing physical and tough In the 2nd.

Outside of Belo whose game is actually driving to the basket ? You simply cant make these seniors into something they are not at this point .

Trent can get there and Plummer as well but thats not their strongest abilities and when Kofi is in the game it sucks the entire defense into the paint which limits driving

Grandison and DMW are extremely limited outside of spot up threes

This is why I refer to this team as Frankenstein monster because BU is doing a fantastic job with some mishmashed parts

Rutgers is opening the door. Will our guys bust through it? Not missing FT's and layups that's for sure.
