Game Thread: Illinois at Tennessee

Some solid play by Illini, but too many blunders taking a shovel full of success out of their game that is leading to a hole too deep from which to climb. When trying to beat a team of the talent the Vols have, sloppy play and poor or quick shots will exact a toll that will not provide victory. But a good learning opportunity.

CH has watched at least half a dozen times as a Vol drives the lane right to him. This is not his best defensive game.

Would like to see DGL for some offensive spark.. was in for like 20 seconds, looked back up and was already out of the game

It’s just crazy how many possessions we have where none or maybe one player even gets inside the arc let alone the lane. And don’t mean with the ball — just at all.

Well considering they called 3 more fouls on us in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half then they did the first half and the majority of them have been questionable just saying.i really do believe that blown flagrant call changed momentum of this game

Didn't like the call, but I'd respond with 1)we're getting out hustled, 2) we're getting hurt on the offensive glass and 3) we're turning the ball over. Not going to win many games doing that and if we do lose....BU will point directly to that, in a not so happy mood, and he'll be right.

For whatever reason we stopped attacking inside and decided to chuck too many 3's. I get that they're also physical down there, but we were drawing fouls and getting offensive boards late in the first half when we made that run. And we just completely got away from it.

I haven’t been overly upset at the refs but do agree the game changed on the flagrant 1. I honestly thought they were reviewing it for a hook and hold on the Tennessee player. Ty was the one jumping and it restricted him from elevating.
