I think we might have a top 10 offense even allowing for the competition level tonight........

jsu with a 29 % FG shooting rate in the 1st half............

Illini shooting 60 % FG rate...................maybe better than our FT %.......

Deon said something about halfway through the 1st half about Mirkovic making the B$G 1st team freshman team....I was thinking the same but will wait till a few games into conference play before I start banging that drum................

Hummer hitting 3 3's.........maybe his engagement has something to do with that..............

Jake Davis also hitting a couple 3's.........

60-27 at the half with 2 starters not playing is very impressive........ it really really is...................

The B1G freshmen talent isn't nearly as polished as it was last year. I think Mirk making the B1G freshmen team is very doable.

Compared to last year with what 6 or 7 Freshmen going in the NBA first round? What a crazy talented crop of young men that was

And Rapheal (sp?) at BTN called him for B1G FOTY. Very very early, but he seems to have the IT Factor.

And if he makes BU sit Ben H, he must have something!

The guy he dunks on literally propels him upward more because he jumps late.

This guy is nowhere close to the athlete that TSJ is/was, the Balkins apparently have some good drugs for Brad to say that.

Too many TO's and not enough forced TO's by our D. That will need to improve as the season goes on. But if our shooting is consistent it may not matter most nights.

I was living in East Central Il back in the mid 70s and we could pick up Terre Haute TV. A friend told me to catch Ind State's next game as they had this freshman phenom named Bird. I watched one of their games and he was really good as a college frosh... but no better than Mirk

Great observation Pop....of riveting interest for this Illini fan base. There are offensive weapons sitting on the toilet in the locker room we have not even seen. Of paramount interest to me is how will BU put the pieces together to beat Florida, UConn, Alabama, Michigan, and Purdue...not to mention Houston and Duke....if you want to win the NC. No one here has those answers, though we all have an answer we would prefer. But that is why BU makes the big bucks.

I am really interested to see how Stoya, Petro, and Ty (if and when available) can be used to elevate the ceiling for this team. That is a lot of talent and experience sitting on that bench.

Another observation....thanks you Michigan for taking Morez and allowing the Illini to put David Mirkovic on the roster. Mirk appears to be a considerable upgrade in most every area. Not sure if rebounding is not one of those areas but I will take it. Yet Morez is having a good night against Oakland as I type.
