Our play calling is baffling.

I agree Zook should've not been let go. By all accounts he was letting Koening turn the defense around.

2 straight bowl victories. Improving defense sending multiple players to the nfl. Great running game with great running backs. No we shouldnt have fired zook

Crawford getting held sooooooo badly on the 2nd and 10. Would have changed the drive if called.

We should have let cam keep running it.

Exactly he was figuring not to micromanage. And was starting to see merits with Bowl Wins. Thomas screwed us royally

You're looking at things through Beckman colored glasses. It's easier to say this after TB drove things into and through the ground. Zook didn't know what the score was in the middle of the game. If he was such a good coach, he'd have been picked up by someone in the last 5 years. He isn't.

So hard to be patient, but Lovie will get us much higher than RZ ever did or would again. :illinois:

Oh im not comparing lovie to zook at all bro. I know lovie is the better coach BUT Zook petrino and especially koenning were building a good team

Zook raised our profile. The biggest mistake he made was botching the hire after Locksley with the TCU guy disaster. The cupboard wasn't bare either . Beckmann was a complete disaster. Zook wasn't perfect but he had us in better shape then now.

A good team that completely fell apart and lost 6 in a row? A good team that had enormous roster imbalance, discipline issues, and legal problems?

Ron Zook had exactly 1 good season and maybe 4 OK/fair seasons in 10 years as an NCAA head coach. He's so much in demand that he was unemployed for 2 years and is now a ST coach for the Packers.

The revisionist history is strong with this one.

(1) Our QB play is embarrassing
(2) Freshman D holding their own as well as can be expected
(3) Are we going to have someone kicked out of every game?
(4) Lovie’s prevent D strikes again as it did so many times with the Bears. Inexcusable giving up 3 there at the end of the half

Lot of things to like here at the half.
BUT, then again, the typical historical shooting ourselves in the foot syndrome.
Been watching this for 40 years now.

I will say though that I do like the broadcast team of Patrick and Tuberville. Patrick is definitely on his last legs, and Tuberville is very forthright in his analysis. Very refreshing.

No revisionist he built a solid program which Ron Turned ran into the ground because he didn't like to recruit. Give the Zooker his props. The players with legal problems were guys with took chances on. Some worked out others didn't. But we were going to bowl games. And recruiting solidly. When the last time that happen here in this century???

Dude. Zook replaced Turner.

I know weather is not good but it looks like a pretty meager crowd at the game. I agree that I think interest in the football program is waning now that the initial buzz about Smith being hired has waned. The product on the field is just so bad.

I'm here! It is cold! Wisconsin travels much better than Rutgers (obviously) but overall there are probably fewer people here. Usually I can't even connect to the internet on my phone during the game.

Defense has played well. QB play is a disaster though. At least they are playing hard and there aren't too many Wisconsin fans around me.

I would also like to add that I am really warming up the Grey Ghost uniforms. Looks really sharp!
