At least at the top the Big 12 did not measure up to the other elite programs. We kinda woodshedded Houston and Michigan whacked Zona. And Iowa State got it against Tennessee.
Iowa St was also without its best player, so don't forget that. I believe that Iowa St-Tennessee game would've been much more competitive with Jefferson in the mix. But, still think that Michigan would've beaten Iowa St as well. I was really surprised that Arizona and Michigan was not a more closely contested game. We were all calling it the de facto national championship game and Michigan punched them right in the mouth and despite trying to get back in the game after Lendeborg was out, Michigan always had a counter answer for them. Michigan was destroying teams at the beginning of the season too so it just seems like they have been the best team all along

Yaxel being out would be a tough break for Michigan all things considered
If he’s out, you just have to wonder what kind of deal Danny Hurley made with the devil and what the eventual exchange will be.

It will be interesting to see how Michigan's big lumbering ogres handle getting chased through UConn's off-ball screening. It can turn your defensive length against you as it did to us last night.

(They will of course go 1-18 from 3 and lose by 30 )

if Hurley manages to pull it off Monday night , do we then just proclaim him the best & most hated coach of the modern era ? overtaking K ?

So, presuming Michigan would win against either UConn or Illinois...

Better to lose last night to UConn or to a B1G foe?

Get me to the championship and shut up Hurley. Michigan is a juggernaut, so I'd have no issue there. I'd be happy to see Morez win.

if we had to lose either night , I am glad it happened last night

the pain of losing an NC game to scUM is too much for me

I’m not counting UConn out. UConn won’t beat themselves. So if Michigan has a high turnover game and doesn’t shoot lights out from 3, I think it could be a close game. UConn will absolutely have to control tempo and do all the little things. Muck up the game.

With all the action UConn runs I don’t expect Mara to be much of a factor. I think Michigan probdbly goes with their smaller lineup of Morez at the 5 and switches every thing. UConn’s best chance to win is for Elliot Cadeau to be terrible, and for McKenney and Gayle to go like 1-9 from 3.

Michigan has had an easy tourney so far. They’ve scored 90+ points every game. Do they get tight if it’s like 32-29 at halftime? UConn is used to winning ugly

Michigan will switch at all positions except 5 (Mara). I think they are frankly a terrible matchup for UConn, I'd say we're looking at another 20+ pt blowout. Frickin nightmare

I’d rather have lost the way we did. I’d want no part of losing to Michigan in the final game.
The way we shot last night (and most of the last 10 games), we could easily have lost by 20 points to Michigan, and then have to watch Morez celebrate on top of that. I would want no part of that.

With that said, I would have loved seeing us compete to hoist the natty trophy. In one game, crazy things can happen.

Regarding tomorrow, I will be happy and mad at the same time no matter who wins.

I would have liked to have played Zona first and beaten them. Then take our chances with either UConn or Michigan. I personally would rather lose to UConn. At least this year we only lost to Michigan once. I believe it was in the 1999-2000 season where Wiscy lost to Sparty 4 times, including in the final four semis. Now that has to hurt!

Counting UCONN out is dumb - so im raising my hand, and volunteering im dumb.

I just dont see it. UCONN shot the best they shot from the outside in a while against us, on high volume. Got a really good game from Reed too. We missed countless open layups and threes. We turned it over like mad - and a lot just silly. And STILL, we were right there.

Solo Ball also being injured not gonna help. Michigan smells blood, even if they turn it over and miss, which to your point is totally possible. But i think they just suffocate them.

Get the point you're making.

But we're not UCONN IMO. With our newfound defense and interior game, at our best, wed have had a shot against Michigan.

Bums me out so much about the UCONN game. It was all right there and we just played a C game with missing open looks. I think even our B / B+ game beats an A UCONN game. Just painful

My "bet on the Big 12" bracket strategy was a disaster

Regardless, we didn’t seem to be moving the ball around with much zip.
Last night? Did you watch the same game I did? UCONN doubled the ball when Keaton or Bos had it and overplayed all of the other players.

Give UCONN credit for their game plan. But also give our players and coaches for recognition and going directly to the rim with 70% of their passes or dribble. Had we made out layups, tips and FTs - we win. But never seen a team react as well as our guys did.
