For anyone interested in the UEFA Nations League games, the US TV partner is FuboTV. However, if you don't have Fubo, Univision is streaming matches in Spanish via their Vix app. I just downloaded the Vix Android app and am set to watch the England vs Germany match. So far - streaming looks good.

Some of the matches are also airing on FS1 or FS2 or Fox Soccer Plus.

There was some talk on soccer twitter that the Peru keeper had notes on the Aussie PK preferences (foot and direction) by shooter taped to his water bottle and that an Aussie stole the bottle and sent it off the pitch at the beginning of PKs.

Costa Rica defeated New Zealand 1:0 today and get the final World Cup spot. Joel Campbell scored early for los Ticos.

The New Zealand coach seemed less than pleased postgame with not just the choice of referee for the match but the quality of officiating in the match.

2026 FIFA World Cup sites announced today:

FVZ9c1hXEAIv5vl

While I get why SoFi Stadium was chosen for L.A., it's still a little disappointing they didn't bring it back to the Rose Bowl.

The cities that missed out in the final selection were Baltimore/Washington, Orlando, Cincinnati, Nashville, Denver, and Edmonton.

Of the 80 matches that will be played in the 2026 tournament, 60 will be played in the U.S., 10 in Canada, and 10 in Mexico. Once the tournament reaches the quarterfinals, all remaining knockout round games will be held in the U.S.

Bummer no Denver. I'd have loved to go to a World Cup game here locally. Might just make the drive to KC though if the US makes it into a game there.

Well, Mexico City is one of the venue locations, and it's substantially higher than Denver.

Right. But my guess is that only one of Mexico's matches (likely their opener in the tournament) will be played at Estadio Azteca with the other two being played in Guadalajara and Monterey. And you can't have Mexico be one of the hosts and not have at least one of their matches played at Estadio Azteca. My hunch is that the only teams that would play matches in Mexico would be the other teams drawn into Mexico's group.

If Mexico is hosting 10 matches, there would have to be teams from outside that group, too.

True. But if you just take Mexico's group that is 6 matches off that list already. So they really only have to have 4 other matches there. My guess is the other 4 are split between Guadalajara and Monterey.

Sorry if this is very goggleable, but who is the technical host country with the auto bid? Since there are games in 3 countries do these 3 teams get automatic bids.

I don’t think FIFA has announced it yet. It would surprise me if all three didn’t auto qualify though. And that tourney will have 48 teams in lieu of the typical 32.

As far as I'm aware, all 3 should get autobids since they're all co-hosting it though the FIFA council hasn't officially announced it as of yet.

That's why this cycle's Octagonal was so significant as it would be the last time it would be as difficult, relatively speaking, for any of the big CONCACAF nations to get in.

For those of you who support specific clubs, how did you come to support them? It is easier for me to define my allegiance to stateside sports franchises based on proximity, family history of support, etc... but picking one specific team to support overseas always leaves me a bit lost. What say you all? How did your premier league allegiances come to be?

I've mentioned on here before that I became an Everton supporter shortly after the 2014 World Cup when Tim Howard had an insane performance in that tournament. I had already kind of had an inkling to start to follow soccer in general more and supporting the Premier League team he was a part of just made sense.
