Kind of sucks that the last time we lost to Mizzou was the season we got into the NCAA tournament. Hopefully, we can beat both Mizzou and get into the tournament soon!
Id rather beat Mizzou.

Multiple league sources believe Missouri’s Jontay Porter plans to stay in the 2018 NBA draft and hire an agent. Porter currently projects as a late first/early second round selection.
figured this would happen. Looks like a second round pick.
I've seen him in the first round of a lot of mock drafts :noidea:
Maybe the Bulls take both Porter brothers?

A lot of people mentioning worry over "Creaning" players next year the way we're going after 2019 players with just two scholarships - but it's a very REAL possibility that the Illini have multiple players declare for the draft after this year. Based on how year one turned out, guys will transfer out too. FOR EXAMPLE: Maybe Spicy G doesn't develop better and decides to go to a mid-major. We'll have scholarships
Maybe you're thinking, "Oh he's drinking the Kool-Aid'.
No doubt
Loved that interview Jones did with WAND. A little silly at times from Volt, but kept it light-hearted and fun. Jones acknowledges that he needs to get better defensively, sounds like he wants to do what it takes to keep his minutes. He mentioned that he was given a one and two year plan. We've seen the slide for the Kahlil Whitney pitch (year one, test NBA waters; year two, lottery). Underwood himself says he doesn't believe in class balance. Given that information and the Whitney pitch slide, BU wants to get elite athletes that fit his system and when they're ready to go for the NBA, they're going to go. He wants to create a winning culture that churns out NBA players. He's going to encourage kids to go when they're ready because we will reap the rewards of becoming an elite basketball school again.

BUT, let's talk this through: Ayo, Frazier, (Okoro, if we get him) would be most likely to declare for the draft if anyone; Feliz, Jones, I think could also get there and try to go if we make a tournament run, especially a deep tournament run. Ayo is a better athlete than Frazier by far, and it's very possible Ayo's freshman year > Frazier's freshman year. Frazier is going to get a lot better because we'll have athletic bigs that can run and shoot and catch the ball down low. We'll have more than two offensive threats, so the defense will lose Trent more often than last year. Trent will have more assists and more points.
Feliz and Jones are more of a stretch, but again, you put great players together and they make each other that much better. When Ayo and Trent get hot, then Jones and Feliz will have more opportunities to be open. The very real possibility is, if we get Okoro and he re-classifies to 2018 and enrolls here, we're a top 25-caliber team again, capable of making a run deep into the tournament.

Jones' face looks a little like Devon Mitchell's. If his play is anywhere close he'll be a star.https://www.facebook.com/GordonVoitWANDSports/videos/2047001078896659/

Very optimistic, maybe a little farther then I believe , but possible. Getting into the tournament would be great, if it would happen we would a couple of things go with it. . We would finish in top half of big ten, maybe top 4. All being hypothetical, this would mean standout play by one or more individuals. It could all snowball very good, or with a key injury or issue could go south fast, as we have seen happen before.
All being said, putting the guys together, implementing the culture and system, is what we are waiting for, the outcome is what will be measuring stick that the players and staff will be judged on. Love the optimistic view, let's rub the rabbit foot hard hope all falls in place.
Not impressed by Nebraska. They played a weak schedule in the B1G, plus did little to nothing in the non-con, besides a close loss to KU.
