Assuming Hutch is as good as advertised, does he start alongside DMW or Grandison (or both or neither)? I think all I'm saying is that I'd be surprised if Grandison is not in the starting lineup. I'm a lot less sure about whether it will be DMW or Hutch there with him (I'm assuming Kofi, Belo and Trent are locks and nobody else is likely to be a day 1 starter).
Grandy

I got this as the starting lineup:

Curbleo
Trent
Hutch
Grandy
Kofi
I think that is the most likely lineup given experience and it’s a good mix of skill set- not having seen Hutch actually play yet

9 guys will be in the rotation the 5 above and DW, CH, Payne and Plummer (he has to play when AC or Frazier are out as a secondary ball handler)

the good news is BU really has it all at his disposal - he can go with the hot hand - he can go big, go small - we will be a nightmare matchup for anyone

off the subject, does anyone have any info on tickets in Kansas City for the pre Thanksgiving tournament?

I thought that’s what the OP was saying but I can’t imagine any of the freshman guards already being better defenders than Trent is no matter how tall they are. I can’t recall many if any times Trent was removed for defensive purposes last year. Defense is kinda his thing right?
Yep, Trent's d is great, he's just a little on the short side. Can't remember Curbelo on d last season only his amazing dazzle on o

Plummer too. But, yeah, this. I would imagine that Hutch or DMW would slide to the 2, ahead of the frosh. Great problem to have.
Yep everyone seems to be forgetting Plummer, some even think that he will only be the 2nd or 3rd guard off the bench.
I'm hoping he pushes the other guards for starting, or at the very least be as good or better than that guy who left for LSU

I'm going to go out on a limb though and predict that Curbelo will be on the floor most of the time. LOL

For the eliteyith time, it doesn’t matter if you start; it matters if you finish.
Actually if I'm BU and it's a close game, the finishers will usually be 4 good FT shooters plus Kofi.
Heck, given how quickly Kofi is improving that might be 5 good FT shooters.

C- Kofi, Payne, Lieb
PF- Jake, Hawk, BBV
SF- DaMonte, Hutch, Melendez
SG- Trent, Goode, Podz
PG - Belo, Alf, (Trent)
Just noting nominal positions as lots of flexibility with these players but amazingly well balanced in that regard. Weakest is at PG in future but probably a problem recruiting with the present talent. Recruiting ranking do not include a metric for balance but it was a past problem for us with no PG’s or Centers. This team has AllAmerican candidates at both.

Plummer's not playing? Hutch will start at the 3.

Plummer is Alf, ok.

I like it! I see Alfonso being like Vinny the Microwave Johnson. Coming in whenever Curbelo (Isaiah) or Frazier (Dumars) goes out and lighting it up.

Plummer's not playing point. And he'll be getting a lot more than ~8 minutes (when Papi is out). Frazier will slide to point when Papi is out. The backup SG will be Pummer.

I dont see much tick for BBV and Hawk likely behind DMW as a back up at the 4 like last year with Kofi back. DMW will play around 23 minutes like he has the past 3 years with a lot if it at the 4. It sucks for Hawk that DMW came back and will be ahead of him again. We likely have more quality back ups from one or more of our freshman to pitch in time at the 3. A freshman has played well every year BU has been here and likely will again. If that happens it will likely be behind Hutch at the 3 Also AP will play the 2 often as TF plays the 2 and backs up at the 1.

To repeat myself-are we still doing starting lineup projections that don’t include Hutch?

Curbleo

Hutch
Grandy

I am absolutely certain we will see this lineup on the floor.....and maybe 7-10 other combinations playing important minutes. As to which five will be the most efficient, that will depend on game situations and personnel match-ups. Put me in the camp who will not waste a minute stating who will be the starters as that is not at all important to me. How the guys who play perform when they play is all that matters.

See Hawk getting more minutes even if DMW gets less. BU needs to keep an eye on the future of the program and Hawk is it for the next 2-3 years. Especially if he put in so much work in the off season.
