I'm thinking Belo with a little Frazier on the side...And get ready for the first game we lose because we may not have a last minute, zero doubt, this is happening, closer this year.

“I haven’t really focused on that yet — the business side of it. I’m going to leave that to my people,” Cockburn said. “I need to focus on my game right now and helping Illinois be better. Whenever that happens, it will happen. I’m going to take my time with it.”The freshmen will take any deal that comes their way, I'm sure Kofi has a little more say what deals he takes and how they will be structured, which I'm guessing is why it's taking a bit more time.

I definitely agree with you. I just thought that the mettle we showed in the BTT would translate somewhat into March Madness, but evidently it didn’t in any way. We are much more prepared this year. I’m sure of it.
For the first 30 minutes of the Loyola game, they were getting easy shots and ours were very tough. Underwood is almost always outstanding, but for this game I think your blame on the players is misplaced. There's a difference between a game where you know you get to come back for another and one where you are really up against a wall with the season on the line. The level of pressure is so much different. I think we essentially just folded under that pressure. We didn't have anyone with experience to lift the team up. And by the way, I am in no way trying to excuse that loss. It was a terrible loss to a really good but still inferior team. Experience just matters.
Even the best coaches have bad games and that was a bad one.For the first 30 minutes of the Loyola game, they were getting easy shots and ours were very tough. Underwood is almost always outstanding, but for this game I think your blame on the players is misplaced.

I wonder which asst had game planning duties for that game? For the first 30 minutes of the Loyola game, they were getting easy shots and ours were very tough. Underwood is almost always outstanding, but for this game I think your blame on the players is misplaced.
Unfortunately, it wasn't Nick Irvin.I wonder which asst had game planning duties for that game?

I hear their are some things in place from someone with good sources.Has anyone heard of any NIL deals for Kofi at this point? What about Curbelo? I assumed these two would have signed some "significant" NIL deals at this point locally, with the possibility of some nation-wide deal appeal for Kofi? Maybe they have signed deals and I have just missed the announcements...
All due respect, butAs I reflected on the Loyola game, a few thoughts came to mind:
1. Loyola was underseeded and belonged on the 4/5 line.
2. Being on the 8/9 line gave Loyola an advantage in the advance scout/prep department. As a 1 seed we were a virtual lock to be their opponent in the round of 32 while our potential opponent was a toss up in the 8/9 game. This means Loyola could devote 100% of their advance scouting to Illinois, which, to their credit they did a great job of. They picked out a perfect offense and defense to exploit our weaknesses and we were unable to adjust.
This also led me to two follow up questions:
1. Had Loyola been seeded properly and we still played them in the second weekend, would the outcome have been different given we would have had 5 days to focus exclusively on Loyola?
2. If they still beat us, but in the round of 16, would that haven taken some of the sting out? In other words, would a S16 appearance felt like the season was a success? Or was anything short of E8 on the 1 line a disappointment?

Did BU ever watch a rerun of the game? At one point some time ago, he said he hadn't viewed it yet.Coach should have adjusted and gone zone for at least a while to break their rhythm and flow. Assumed we were too good and would work thru it. Bad coaching game, guys were struggling and we didn’t make adjustments to help..
Still wouldn’t trade Brad for anyone at this point.
